Interesting, wonder when the top moto guys will start running them. Media hasn't picked up on them too much yet so not a lot of info.

I'd never spend the money even at my cost on them but the prism lense in the Tomac signature airbrake I checked out is pretty incredible stuff and I never run Oakley.

I can't justify $200 for a pair of goggles. They look nice though.

They were just announced a few hours ago, they will have a small presentation on them at the Las Vegas Supercross. Personally, I've had a set for a bit now...I believe the final pricing was going to be set around $140-ish? It's a rigid lens-style goggles, like airbrake. It has a neat dual lens design for snow and enduro that'll deal with fogging issues.

The nose piece looks atrocious to me.

They're ugly, for sure. But the rigid lense is a safety necessity and I'll give Oakley (and dragon) my money just to tell other companies they need to get on board. We're riding motorcycles wearing eye protection that's weaker than a pair or $10 gas station sunglasses.

How much influence does Luxottica have over Oakley? Is this a china product or is the Oakley HQ still up and running?

All goggle products are made in Irvine, Ca at Oakley HQ. The injection molding for the frames and lenses are all done there and a few small parts sourced from the area. Majority of Oakley's plastic eyewear is made in-house, metal frames for glasses do come from China though.

The nose guard looks like an "after thought", looks so out of place..lol
Might look better when worn with a helmet.

They're introducing them here in Vegas. I just got an invitation to check them out tomorrow.

I have a hard enough time spending $100 on a rear tire, but to spend $140+ on a pair of goggles? NO WAY! I'll stick with my o-frame, crowbars or my eks brand.

I'm not positive about this new goggle, but all other Oakley moto goggles are made in China. Some lenses are made domestically, but that is about it for the moto category.

I don't mind these at all. Snowboard goggles with a nose guard basically. Most of the MX goggle companies that also make snow goggles have been doing this for a bit now it seems. The dual lens is kinda cool, I've always carried a pair of snow googles for this reason. Def. a must in cold weather but id be interested to ride in a pair and see how it works in the heat.

Oakley goggles have been made in China for the last 20 or so years. The same factory that makes Oakley makes most goggle brands product on the market. Some injection molded lenses for snow goggles were made in their US factory here but these are not. (I worked there for 10+ years).

The rimless frame design is cool. Nose piece is a bit overdone.

The injected / hard lens is must these days. SO may pro level riders have had lens failures with traditional lexan style lens. Plus the optics through an injected lens is so much clearer.

Oakley makes a solid goggle, always has and I am sure these are a great product and more than likely worth the $$$. Plus you only need 1 set as the lenses interchange easily so no need to own several frames anymore.

You sure about that Michael ? I've been told Oakley has been made in China for awhile now...

Edit- guess the should've read the rest of the thread, before posting. Seems that others agree on them being made in China as well....

I'll stick to my Scott Prospects... Oakley is so damn expensive and I feel like Scott also makes good stuff.
