Reed's Bike Doesn't Sound Right

To me, it sounds like Reed's bike pops and sputters more than his competition's. I wonder if it is a riding style issue or an engine management system issue.

That was his practice bike last night...Don't know why, but it was reported on T.V.

That's odd, because one of the things EFI should do is keep the bike from blubbering and popping. Something weird going on there.

The Kawis pop a bit, but usually at the end of a long wide-open section when the cylinder's loaded up with fuel and they chop the throttle.

the only thing practice bikes usually have on them is the suspension.. when i worked for a team we left all the motor mods of the practice bikes.. unless it was something that needed to be tested.. for instance the PC bikes tranny costs 15 grand alone.. even though it may seem like they do.. they dont have the budget to build their practice bikes exactley like their race bikes..but what do i know.. im just a caveman

He may have ridden his practice bike if he thought it would be better on a snotty track. His race bike may have more power but a snappier power delivery.

not half ass,just damage control.he decided or the team decided on using the practice bike....ask team suzuki why it was decided.

It wasnt a practice bike, its a bike they use for testing and its identical to his race bike. For the record, Reeds practice bike is virtually the same as his race bike also.

virtually= just suspension... carmicheal once said that his 450 made enough power that his motor was stock except for the exahuast.. the only thing that was changed was suspension.... KL23 Lives by me.. his "practice bike" was stock except for suspension.. and when he rode for suzuki of japan the only mods his practice bike had was carb and suspension.. he said his race bike has everything else on it

There's not exactly a lot of shame in getting beat by Stewart. And Reed is still ahead on points. If you'd said to Reed that, 6 races into the season, he wouldn't have won a race but would be ahead on points, I'd think he'd say that was a good start...

Practice bikes are way different...
At least every Pro in the last few years seem to think they are.

When you work in a Pro pit, you never see two identical bikes side, by side.

I know they have spare parts in a drawer, ready to bolt on...Seen them, but I have never seen a mirror image bike.
