What has happened to my home state? It sounds nuts out there!

We likely will be getting another 12 cents a gallon tax to fix our way fucked up roads. Because we don't have high enough gas taxes.
You likely will not know your neighbors and everyone is always running late so either tailgating you or weaving in and out of traffic at 85 mph.

Chalmette is very affordable. Over ten years you could build a track with the $$$ you'd save in living expenses and in the mean time ride at Windham's track.

Do you have to speak Spanish in order to live there?

I live in Temescal Valley (South Coronoa North Elsinore) here are some things to consider.

Corona- Corona keeps building and wont stop, the city limits end at Werrick Rd/Dos Lagos (near Kawisaki test track) and if you notice they are stuffing new apartments in there around the shopping center.

Temescal Valley- Sycamore Creek is still building, Terramore is just beginning on the eastside of the 15fwy and Elsinore is moving ahead on a massive 8,000 home development on the old mining sites.

The 91 gets all the headlines but with these new homes the 15 is just as bad 7 days a week. When there is a bad accident on the 15 between Temescal Canyon Rd and Central (SR 74) the whole valley is jammed and there is no way in or out.

I moved here because I got a great deal on a short sale home and drive a company vehicle with a corporate gas card, if and when this changes I am likely gone.

Like the other guys said what you save on a home you will burn on a commute. Unless you work offshift you won't be home much during the week.

Before I moved out here I lived in Torrance but I rented. The South Bay is awesome and if I could afford to buy there I would move back. Everything is within 2-5 miles tons of bars, restaraunts, beaches, ect. Moto would still be 1 to 2 hours away but not a daily drive. Basically you need to decide where you want your money spent, on where you live or on where and how you drive. Carson/Wilmington is a hell of a drive from Corona from South Corona/TV add another 30-45mn.

Corona eh?

Well, I'd listen to everyone else. My advice I can give you; if doing it sight unseen? Don’t.

If still, come stay a week or even a Weekend. And try to make your commute.

I'll be out there at least two times before I move. Was just trying to narrow down areas based on home prices but the way it's sounding is I'll go for less house for less commute. Will be working M-Thurs 6 a.m. To 4.pm so it look like that'll put me in the thick of it on the 91 in the evenings to Corona so I am leaning elsewhere. Stay tuned and thanks for the info. Please share more if you got it.

I stayed in various Extended Stay Hotels before deciding which commute I could stomach (1 week in each to get a view of Mon-Fri traffic). But---the CA Dept. of Corrections houses sex offenders and parolees in the extended stay joints, so keep that in mind. Man, if you can swing LB or HB----that's the ticket, imo.

I would love to be in LB or HB but I also want a garage which makes it tough from what I can find so far. I'll be renting month to month and searching hard. If you got any leads please share.

Thanks,

Ryan
