As far as I'm concerned....Dungey picked a fight with Reed with his stupid comments after the heat race. Chad....being Chad , and the same Chad Reed that's been in this class longer than anyone out there , probably got a little pissed about it.

I don't really agree with what Chad did , but I also don't blame him one fucking bit. Dungey is someone in this sport whom a I respect a lot , but Christ.....that heat race speech , he seemed like a whiny bitch. I can and do totally get why Chad would of had a little bit of a chip on his shoulder for the main event.

NO....not retarded. I go to a local race and some dude starts whining because I wouldn't let him by , he's the first dude I'm gonna park when I get the chance. Now multiply that by about 100 times because there is a bunch of money on the line in the pro ranks. RD is an awesome guy , but he came across as a whiny bitch in that heat race. It was a fucking heat race! So yeah....I can totally see why Chad held his ass up.

I'll also say this....he didn't ruin the race either. There was no way in hell he was going to catch Eli.....so thank god Chad did it......made the main that much more exciting and it made sure the points tightened up.

I'm in the minority here.....But fuck yeah! Go Chad!

Chad has talked more shit in the past than probably the rest of the field combined so give up that argument. If he was in front of Dungey for position this would not be an argument. Hold him up all night, block pass, whatever, but not as a lapper. Your argument that Ryan talked shit in a interview first and started it is a joke, grow up. Do I think he should be penalized, no. Chads been riding like a version of Vince Friese try hard quite a bit this season. He's had one good race otherwise he's been beep up to 2 seconds a lap off the pace of the leaders. You guys crack me up trying to justify some dude being a shithead and messing up a good race over a few comments after a heat race interview. If the shoe was on the other foot we'd be hearing Reed crying all over the media.

It amazes me how people here claim they're not bias towards any certain riders and all's they wanna see is good racing. If you're actually ok with Reed pulling this tonight then well you showed your true colors being that we as fans got robbed of what could of been by some butthurt dude in 16th place holding a grudge over comments.

I'm a big fan of Reed's (and Dungey's) but I don't like how he didn't make an effort to get out of the way, yeah the rules say hold your line but these guys aren't kooks they are able to get out of the way without it being sketchy.. But that said Dungey definitely changed his riding too I'm assuming he was worried about what was gonna happen when he was coming up to Reed and seemed to get into his own head
Either way shit was pretty petty, but I'm hoping it's might unleash angry Dunge haha

Reed got taken out of the race last week because of a stupid move on Dungey's part, then Dungey has the audacity to complain about Reed after the heat race when really it was just clean racing. I can understand why Chad did what he did, but I don't think he should've done it, he should've been the bigger man and let him go. Moral of the story is, when you're in a title fight, don't make enemies out there, cos you're gonna need a little help along the way

seriously tho, dungey was some 2.5 sec per lap faster than reed, just move the guy and don't wait till he pulls over for you.

If it was solely based on Ryan's ill judged comments after the heat race then I think Chad went too far.

For goodness sake we're talking about the smallest of comments here! I'm sure Chad would want to have some words back - so take your pick in any of the dozen post race interviews or social media outlets etc.To wreck the race (and possibly the title) for Ryan and I'm sure many of the fans in the stadium who wanted to see a good battle, was below the belt.

Dungey for the most part has always been a clean rider that's kept himself out of the nonsense. He doesn't have a history of saying or doing stupid things. Give the guy the benefit of the doubt and show the title contenders, the paying fans, not to mention the rules... some respect. By all means tell Ryan what you think in your interviews later. That would've been the appropriate response. I like Chad a ton, but I'm surprised he would go to those lengths to make a point, I really am.

what jeffro said. i don't agree with what he did either however i can't say i blame chad. it was totally uncool to call out a defenseless chad in the heat race interview, by defenseless i mean chad didn't have a chance to respond to ryan's comments. all of which took place on international television and could easily influence uninformed and new followers of the sport. i'd have been fuckin' pissed off at ryan as well.

Reminded me of what Burnworth did to RJ at anaheim 86.. BUT if Dungey was quicker he shouldve went around.. YES Reed couldve made it easier and probably shouldve- but when Dungey got next to him he did move out the way..

Wasn't solely based on Dungeys comments after the heat race. Dungey caused the first turn pile up in Detroit that wiped Chad out by being way too aggressive into the first turn

Ryan lapped him so he was definitely quicker. It's not as if a rider has never complained about being stuck behind a lapper before - it happens almost every week because there's only so much room out there. A rider who's a bit below the top tier pace but still fast can wreck the race if he disobeys the blue flag. What we don't normally see is someone intentionally do this for so long.

First turns are by their nature chaotic though. Again, Ryan's not going to purposely wipe Reed out in the first turn, or indeed any turn.
