Hand seemed fine last year. 17 year old forkner worked him. Setting up career so far like allessi. Majorly over hyped in amatures. Turns pro this season and is struggling to run the pace.

You're trying too hard

i said competitive at rd6, i'm sticking with it - yes he will be a step up from the last time as he has had two more weeks healing and riding but once in Europe and healed we will see him actually compete, naysayers can come back to haunt all threads at that time.

whatever kind of knobs are saying he's shit in the 450 class have never raced with injuries, probably don't even ride

Yes sir, his hand was very fine last year so was that world championship that came with it! And i never knew that Forkner worked him because he had 3 point less in the end of the day than Herlings but hey thats just numbers right!
Sure he got beat straight up by Webb at Charlotte but Webb got beat straight up at Magiora MXDN but so did every one else so there's no shame in that.
He's not overhyped he has 3 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS on his name how is that overhyped?
He's one though soab he's proven time and time again he's not a pussy and rides and trains his ass off to be the best he can be.

FYI Alessi is a bad ass on a dirt bike and had some major injuries and crashes in the past. Never knew that Alessi struggled to run the pace because he has stats like this '05 3th, '06 2nd, '07 2nd, '08 10th, '09 13th, '10 5th, '11 5th, '12 2nd in a your own outdoor series which you will always state is the better one.

I think you should STFU unless you have actually something valid to contribute and come on here with actual facts, running inside the top 10 in any of these races is fucking insane they can sit backwards and blindfolded on there bike's and still beat us regular joe's.

You mean when Forkner's best laptime at a real outdoor track , Glen Helen, was over 2.5 seconds slower than Jeffrey. Ouch

I'm not trying to be petty on this subject, but come on guys.

He kicked everyone's ass in the last moto of the MXdN, he reeled in Anderson very quickly and crashed trying to make a pass, he whooped up on Martin and Forkner at Glen Helen--a track they both practice on and have done well on in the past--and he destroyed Febvre, Gajser, and Van Horebeek almost every weekend when he raced them on 250s.

The guy is good, he has a broken hand, get over it.

Agree, well spoken. But as a fan i don't think it will happen this round. He underestimated the class with and after the hand injury...he has to be fully fit and healthy to destroy everyone. Like he was at the mxon and smx cup

I agree. The class is tough, and it may take him a while with that injury. Looks like he's improved today.

With his Championship hopes gone for this season we can just hope he uses the situation as a learning season and picks and chooses his battles and matures into the true World Champion in the future.

Top 5 would be great for him. Last weekend he got beat straight up in the sand since a long long time. Need to go back to 2011 for that i believe. Second moto he won but got a hard time and fight to beat Nagl. He is no where he was and wants to be, if he got already a hard time to win in the sand you know Herlings is way off. People think to easy, that hand set him back big time.
You have a point. Even if he was healthy going in I still expected him to struggle a bit. Why is that so hard to believe...

Your right Tim has been racing in the 450 class for a long time now, fair point

His season will turn around at Valkenswaard, he never lost that GP in his career and he won't eveR lose that GP in his career. Confindence!

I'm not rising to the bait.

If anyone else worried about how fast GT243 is this season. I'm a huge Herlings fan and want to see him win but Tim's speed is unreal and is going to be hard to beat.

Not that I wish any injury or bad vibes on Gajser but the guy has been very lucky with some of his crashes and I feel that he has a big one coming soon. Or he is made of rubber haha. Happy GP racing...

Unbelievable amount of trolling, butthurt and misunderstood sarcasm in a 2 page thread.

With that logic, Webb should be nowhere near the front outdoors.
Aside from blitzing this lot at the MXdN he beat everyone in the end at that SuperMotoCross cup thing or whatever it was at the end of last year including Dungey etc,

An injury like that at the start of the season, aside from the physical side of things,is a total head-fuck

He's nearer the pace all the time but this season is a salvage operation now for a proper assault next year

It's a long season man. I think he can get rolling. I truly believe he is just better than the other riders so when he gets back to that level, I think he can start reeling off wins and putting serious pressure on the field.

I remember seeing the X-Rays of Herlings hand. Seeing the ends of the screws going past the bone just made me cringe.

It's a pet hate of mine, how Doctors don't seem to factor in that 'overhang' of bolts / screws / plates can create so many problems just in and of themselves. You'd think that they'd give thought to correct length, and / have the tips of the screws sized to length, so there's no chance of those tips ripping the hell out of soft tissues/ producing extra / continued pain. The screw tips I saw, surely might be a problem with holding onto bars. I'd not be surprised that JH might be dealing with issues from those screws.

I've got a few screws and bolts in me that present consistent problems - it's a fairly regular thing for me to have blood trickling down my lower legs, and see metal poking through the skin. I got so fed up with one, that I broke out a mini linisher to take the sharp tip of one off. Operating on oneself is such an adventure! Another anchor bolt for one of my synthetic ACs was put in too far forward, not only leaving the AC replacement geometrically incorrect, so my lower leg easily rotates, still, but it causes stress fractures across the front of the shin, often. Doctors can be right royal f**k ups at times, yet they get away with it.

What's tucking your ears about?

Hell, every single one of you would do the same, after you'd had the sharp tip of a screw poking through your skin, constantly, over a few years!

Got to admit, it hurt a bit - I went at it too hard initially, and the screw glowed red. Hurt a bit (well, a fuggin' lot), but it was the smell of burning bone and flesh that was the hardest thing about it. I'd like to take a few other sharp edges off some 'staples', and the heads of 2 screws / bolts, but doing that, would make it hard to remove them for new joints to be put in - so, regular 'metal poking out of skin' is still part of riding, or even just knocking my leg against things around the house / workshop.

Herling's hand in that picture, doesn't look that healthy ( though, nothing like Mel Pococks - yuck!). Is that from this weekend?

I give him credit for saying it was fine 2 weeks ago. Seriously that hasn't changed much since Qatar.
