I still have a 250 and a 450, so just wondering. My 250 is already mapped so I wouldn't change couplers on it anyways.
I think it would be cool to do a map switch now that I think about it even if it wasnt on the fly. Wonder if anybody would be interested in this.
1) I purchased a Race Tech spring fork conversion off of Vital Bazzar for $350 with the spring. Best $350 I have ever spent on a dirt bike.
2) before sending my ecu off for re mapping I did a bunch of research and found that people were finding there TPS (throttle position sensor) out of tolerance and causing the decal pop. I found mine off and adjust it and low and behold the pop is gone and throttle response is crispy! procedure is in the service manual. Pretty easy if you know how to use a volt meter.
I would also like to note that as of now, TLR needs your whole bike to do a remap on the 16/17 Kawi. Todd does not have the harness needed to map the ECU alone. So I am sending mine to Tokyo Mods.
Thanks!
If anyone can help me out my email is mxryder119@netscape.net. I am mainly interested in checking my TPS.
Thanks.

Thanks anyways.
You are going to love it... i have three rides on mine and cant wait to hit the track tomorrow for nunero four!
The forks are way better than I had expected. I was quite surprised by how well they worked. So was the 44 year old former pro I let ride it, who is still crazy fast. He had a 15 and sold it because he hated the bike, and especially the forks. When he saw me pull up with this he was itching to ride it though. Both of us felt the suspension was damn good out of the box with just a baseline setting. I ran the forks with 160 psi in the inner, 14.5 in the outer, and 175 in the balance chamber.
This bike handles very well and really wants to lay over in a corner without much effort.
The stock tires suck. I'm gonna throw on a set of Dunlop MX3S.
The clutch is meh. Will be adding stiffer springs for sure.
The brakes are good, but a bit spongy. I have Galfer lines on order and that should fix that.
The ergos are fantastic. I moved the pegs down and the bars forward in the clamps, but spun the mounts around so it's not all the way forward. I felt natural on the bike right away. After two laps I felt like I had been riding this for a full season.
I forgot how good 7/8" handlebars feel. I think I'm gonna keep running them.
The grips are made out of concrete. Terrible. ODI will fix that.
It's geared too tall, like I suspected from riding in the yard. 51T rear will be here soon.
I only heard the bike cough or pop once or twice all day. Even with the pro on it There was no issue. I ran it on the black coupler with 93 pump gas. Gonna try the green one out next time.
The bike is fairly quiet for a Kawasaki, but still not as quiet as my friends YZ250F or my other friends RMZ450 with a Yoshi exhaust. At least it didn't sound like a 2010 KXF. Still though, I'd like to put a different silencer on it to get it a bit quieter. I hate loud and obnoxious four strokes.
All in all, it was a good day and I'm happy with my purchase.
I have been running the stock green coupler with good results and tried the white one to try and make the 50T rear sprocket work in more conditions with not very good results. My motorcycle has a PC re map ECU and I can still get it to pop slightly on deceleration. With the white coupler in it made it worse and I was running Sunoco 98 unleaded non ethanol which is the lowest octane fuel I can get in the area with no ethanol.
I am very close on my air pressures and with the FC re-valve the sweet spot seems to be 155-158 inner 10-12 outer with 203 in the balance which are lower than what FC recommended for me. I was having some issues with the front climbing out of ruts, probably rider error, but I fiddled with and adjusted the rebound in the forks and it was much better. Overall I like the forks, but still think they are a bit of a pain in the ass as they are not consistent once you start riding and pressures fluctuating.
Overall I love the motorcycle, this is my first 450 ever and I really like how easy it is to ride, how it handles, its easy to start and jumps really neutral in the air!
