I was contacted about this reed valve by another member. Right now it is buried somewhere. Please contact again. I am leaving on a road trip pretty soon and will resume the search next week.

Replaced crank bearings, seals & water pump seal. Very low hr bike, clutch, trans, forks ect all in vgood condition. Disassembled power valves & cleaned them, but hardly any carbon buildup on the valves. Cylinder plating like new, just light scuff with scotchbrite & cleaned up with wd40. New "b" pro X standard size piston & ring. Only use OEM gaskets on Suzuki"s, have tried aftermarket in the past, they donot fit well. I still have to mount tires on wheels, I forgot my tire irons are in Fla! I have to order a new Boyesen rad valve gasket & powervalve cover gasket. Then rebuild the carb. Did not bother painting the engine side covers, It"s a rider.....

Doesn't get any better your doing an awesome job! I have always liked that era of RM's 89 to 92 some of the best looking bikes ever made in IMHO.

Airbox disassembled, cleaned, high temp rtv on boot to box seal. New Oem mud flap. New ufo rear fender fits perfect, Proc Circuit pipe & silencer fit excellent also, had to order new Oem silencer to pipe junction rubber. Still waiting on powervalve cover gasket before I can mount pipe for good. Original side number plates are a little rough, I may just clean them up good & reuse them as this will be a rider.

Made some progress today' mounted tires, installed wheels, new ufo fork protectors. Original disc guard

Respoked the rear wheel with moose spokes, new bearings, tire, tube, sprocket. Still need to get a chain.

Works connection frame guards, rear brake pedal tip & spring replaced.

Original radiator shrouds, rt side has a crack & graphics are slightly torn, left side is almost mint. Side # plates same story, rt side is real nice but left side is beat up. Likely will get new side plates,UFO still has them. Not sure what I'm doing with shrouds just yet....trying to get some Tuf racing graphics Made, for a Ron Tichnoir replica that will require yellow
shrouds

Thanks Slingshot92, I have been resisting social media until a week ago, I joined F/book under a modified name so I could try to sell some of my 81-83 rm parts. Now I waste even more time on my iPad going back & forth with the other 10 people in the world that like Suzuki"s.....

There's gotta be at least 12 people Smile . I wish I'd known about this build when it started...I have a ton of RM250 parts from 1989-92. I've got a 1991, and 1992 RM250, and a 1997 RMX250. I also have a set of '89 and '92 fork inner legs (the outers are roached...worn out and bent), 1989 RM250 cases and transmission, 2 RAD valves, etc... I also know where a complete 1989 RMX250 engine can be had cheap (is seized, doesn't run). My local dealer also has various NOS items for those bikes. If you need anything hit me up

Thanks For the offer Harescrambled! This bike did not really need a lot of parts, it was pretty complete. just was sitting a long time, so I replaced mains & seals & top end. Original plating on cylinder was still vgood. Plastic was a little scratched up so I replaced fenders & side plates. I have an FmF spark arrester & full woods skid plate taken from this bike, if you know someone who is looking.....

Bike fired off after a few kicks! Ran it through first heat cycle, sounds great! Crisp! NO leaks! can"t wait to pound some laps on this thing!

Wow! Well done man. I'm extremely jealous of your frame guards. Such a cool build.

No, I have a skid plate for mine (I raced local harescrambles for 4 seasons on the 1991, even won my class on it in 2009, then got second in class on it in 2012 ). Coincidentally, I also have an FMF Turbine Core Spark arrester...so no. In fact, after I build my 92, I'll be parting out the 91, and selling off some of my extras. I think I actually have 3 RAD valves. I need to find the third because someone wants it...

Hey all, new to the forums and to the dirt bike world. Just picked up a 92 RM250 roller today. Needs a lot of work but I need an engine for it. 89-92 fits, as I was told, anyone still have one lying around? Totally cool if it needs some work, might be good experience.

Also, if nobody has an engine around, any suggestions on a good year and model engine to sub with? Thanks in advance!

Search craigslist or a Facebook Rm forum for a running bike that needs work, if you have to piece together an engine it will cost a fortune! I see them come up for sale every now & then...good luck!
