I'll start this by saying I'm a huge fan of both ET and RD. That being said, this is only the second time this year RD finished off the box, and both times he was 4th. ET has finishes of 15, 8, 6, and 5 this year....so unless ET can figure out how to manage his bad days, the title is still RD's to lose. IMHO

I'm not being controversial here or saying anything anyone doesn't already know. RD manages his bad days better than ET. If ET finishes the remaining 7 like he finished the last 7, and RD finishes the remaining 7 like his prior 7, RD still wins the title.

Over the last seven races:

RD's average points = 20.7142857
ET's average points = 21.8571429

Of the last 7 Tomac won 5 got 2nd once(another lap would of won) & had a brake caliper screw up on him. Cant manage much better than that! RD5 is pissed b/c he is starting to loose this title.

Dungey was pissed but with his consistency I think anyone would be. As good as he rode still a disappointment (to him) very solid ride and cool to see him "making it happen"
Seely, man stop letting these guys push you around. (easier said than done) but come on park dungey in the tough blocks if he goes inside like that. I like Cole very clean and smooth but frustrating to watch all these guys "move" him outta the way for position.
Granted he parks dungey and someone would have literally shit a brick on here lol

Tomac will win the title! Dungey at some point is going to ride too hard to try and keep Tomac's pace.

Dungey WAS in cruse mode with his big points lead. It isn't so big anymore. He can't just keep cruising to 2nd and 3rd. He is going to have to push it at every round from here on out and he's not use to riding like that. It will bite him at some point. Wink

Seely might be soft, but these last two weeks he has fought with RD pretty well, didn't just let him by, bumped bars with him. Heck he has a bruised thumb from it last week. This week he sure did try, just not as good as RD is.

cole should worry more about riding faster than parking someone who prob made 40sec on him going through traffic

Dungey only needs to win one. Sure anything can happen, but the odds Dungey will win one far out weigh the odds Tomac will win 7 straight.

This.

As it sits right now ET has to win out if RD gets 2nd at every round, if RD wins one race and finishes second at the remaining rounds he wins the title. When was the last time a rider won 7 races in a row? And counting Toronto and Daytona would be 9 in a row.

On any other SX track Dungey would have finished 2nd tonight. It made it closer at Vegas but I would say 90% plus chance that Dungey is the champ. That won't stop people from trying to give him an *.

I was just on the phone with Dungey's father. He said Ryan is "in one of his moods" right now.

I'm not being controversial here or saying anything anyone doesn't already know. RD manages his bad days better than ET. If ET finishes the remaining 7 like he finished the last 7, and RD finishes the remaining 7 like his prior 7, RD still wins the title.

Yes, but you habe to admit Arlington was a freak accident for tomac. Didn't he say it locked up before he hit the brakes?

I know. I know "ifs and buts" but that round tomac easily should have finished on the podium and made up points on dungy rather than lose what like 16 points to him.

Dungey should be thankful Reed went down, bagget and mushy got bad starts otherwise he is outside the top 5.

I do like both riders, just wanna see a title fight.

I'd love it if ET won the remaining rounds and wins the title. But RD has way better odds to win the title with his consistency and a 17 point lead with 7 rounds remaining, than ET does sitting 17 points down with 7 races left and a history of inconsistent finishes.

Dungey got 4th because he's in great shape. Seely absolutely dropped anchor the 2nd half of the race. Blows my mind that Seely could be that far off Dungey in fitness.

He's pissed because he is chasing that damn green bike again. He thought it died when RV retired. Smile Good ride by him and Tomac, though. It is getting interesting now.

Dungey did what he had to do, but I wonder if he feels like everybody needs to pull over for him just because he's leading the series?

That's true, but I'd bet Marvin gets between them more than once.

Normally, I would agree with you about Buckaroo Banzai Tomac. But what we are seeing now is a patient, mature, and calculating Tomac. He is now over the hump. Hes letting the race come to him instead of pounding it into oblivion.

We've seen it a few races in a row, but he hasn't put more than 6 results in a row on the podium since 2015....

So you're asking him to, win his first title by exceeding something he's never done before, by a long frigging way, (He's on four now, and would need to be 11 podiums, with seven consecutive wins to finish) and for Dungey to start having catastrophic results left and right... He's been off the podium like four times in the last three years...

Of course, the maths never really works like that.... but neither of those is very freaking likely.

I hear ya. Safe money is on Dungey, until proven otherwise, but it always happens at some point. Tomac is putting himself in the position to prove otherwise now more than ever. Eli's maturation is still new, but he is in a place he hasnt been in a long time. Every champion has a first one where they did something they've never done before. Im not saying stamp it, but the landscape is looking different.

Regardless, things are getting very interesting.

Tomac cut the lead by 12 in the last 2 races and has 5 wins in 7 starts. You're crazy if you're giving Dungey the title at this stage
