If you don't have insurance, you should not be on a track. Take up golf instead.

Thank You. If I could just say to keep this positive, I made a big mistake and hurt myself riding without health insurance and now im in this boat. I wouldn't put myself out like this if it wasn't my only avenue but right now I have some serious injuries that need to be taken care of. If anyone knows any way to help me with it please message me. I currently have bones in my shoulders and chest not connected and need to get fixed.

Sorry he is injured but i'm quite sure Jeff Alessi is way better off financially than i so i will pass.
Do these pros never save any money or buy insurance...just more cars and houses...pretty sad they always want the fans to pay for their fuckups.
Last time i got hurt didn't see any pros setting up a gofundme for me.

Hope you heal up soon Jeff and not to sound like a dick but you could easily get that 2k you need selling a few race worn jerseys, plastics, and maybe a helmet on eBay. Hell, you could get more than 2k if you got your brother to throw in a few things. Just my $0.02.

You do realise the 15th-40th place guys really don't make much money, I doubt the dude has gone and blown all his money on "cars and houses" He is aiming for 2k, I've seen way more money go to people way less deserving.

If you got injured practicing you need to hit up Road 2 Recovery. That is what they are there for, to help injured riders.

Hope you heal up quick Jeff. If some of you negative Vitards don't want to help, just stay the fuck away and refrain from trying to tell Jeff about insurance or any other negative bullshit.

Shows how screwed up our health care system is, in the not to distant future only the well to do will have decent health care.
Feld should require health insurance, maybe even buy into a plan like most any employer and provide some type of plan option for all racers.
Hope you have a quick recovery bud!!!

I run a plumbing business for a living - Insured so i don't end up in a position where i could owe millions in some public liability case.

Jeff runs his business in moto - uninsured....

I hope he gets well and wish him the best, just can't fathom riding and racing without cover when the risk is so major.

Bare with me, I'm from the UK.......

So, even though Jeff has some pretty big injuries unless he pays nothing gets done? Nothing? Not even a proper diagnosis? He just lies there in pain?

What happens to a poor older person who trips and breaks their hip/leg etc? Grin a bare it?

I was going to hit Jeff up for some riding lessons one of these days. Consider this my deposit! I hope you heal up quick man.

It takes a man to come and ask for help and admit he made a mistake. I donated and wish you a full and speedy recovery Jeff! I hope to see you back in SX again! Let the haters hate. 99.9% of them couldn't stay on the same lap with you!

Remember the only perfect man was Jesus Christ. WE have all made mistakes!

If you ever get to NC look us up!

No. Hospitals will treat you and your injuries, without insurance. However, now you have a much bigger chunk to pay than one would have with insurance. But, and I have seen this a million times, no insurance typically equals you being able to negotiate a much lower price for the same procedures, but the individual now bears all of the financial burden. The bills can still be crazy and one is left making payments over a long period of time. Unless that person never pays...then those insured see their premiums increase to cover those not covered by insurance and don't pay.

Doctors here volunteer and do this shit for free. They don't except money for thier services.

I have health insurance, but really need some some sweet parts for my bike.
Spent my money on insurance. Anyone willing to pay for my parts?

Certainly some are less tactful than others but having the opinion that you shouldn't ride without health insurance is not being negative. I tell my friends who ride without insurance the exact same thing. I also wouldn't donate to my friends to pay for their stupidity. Every pro and amateur out there knows it's not if but when in this sport.

I'm guess i'm confused as to why start a gofundme for $2000.00? If you have zero insurance, that $2000.00 isn't even going to remotely put a dent in what your bill is going to be.

Send 'em $20 a month.

Plenty of ways to make money, sell bikes, parts, ask family members for a loan. Or yet get a payment plan from the hospital. My insurance doesn't cover all my medical bills,. I set up payments if the cost is extreme or not covered.

I think RTR is for severely injured riders who have had a life altering/career ending neck and/or back injury. Those kinds of doctor bills and rehab costs will reach into the millions in a lot of cases. Injured riders are usually in the hospital for weeks if not months.

Don't think Jeff's injury falls into this category. Not hating. Just clearing up what RTR supports. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Something here isn't adding up. Back a few years ago when I was still in college and under my moms insurance I got into crash and went to the ER. All they did was give me an IV and put me in some weird scanner thing (not an MRI). Well the insurance company fucked up and I got a $7,500 bill in the mail. All for a scan and an MRI. My insurance eventually covered it but the point is I didn't break any bones and didn't need surgery. From my experience 2k might get you a fat band aid. Can someone explain? Get well soon Jeff.

Just out of curiosity, do you know who that is you're talking to?

Don't get me wrong, I've been proven wrong about the Bobby Regan/Yamaha connection, but...
