Woops! Thanks for correcting. I went by his stats on Wikipedia but that hasn't been updated since 2014 Pinch

I was totaly wrong on that one my apologies
I don't think that's true Herlings hand , Searles knee
I'm not sure how bad Searles knee is, but he learnt that coming back too early isn't always the best thing eg: came back after breaking his back in 2015

Gajser, Febvre and all the other guys are in trouble. Cairoli going 1-1 in Qatar has to be worrying for the other riders!

Awesome!

Not taking anything away from Tony - he rode a superb GP and timed that final attack to perfection - but you'd expect him to beat Tim today with his illness (I agree the other riders looked way off). It would've been a bad sign for any sort of exciting title race if he couldn't. Regardless, it's very cool to see the old Cairoli back.

Yeah, but i keep thinking about the fact that AC has never won in Qatar before. I see him and Gajser as equal favorites to the title now!

AC is gonna do what he has done before. Pushing hard the first few GPs, getting a points gap and control the rest of the year like before. With Herlings out of the title AC only needs to focus on Gasjer and mayby Febvre is he is able to start upfront!

Yep he is. Im a Herlings fanboy butt its the sad truth. He is already 37 points down and the next GP is in 8 days, where he is gonna lose a bunch again. And then it takes some time to get back 100. You really think and believe he is gonna make more then a GP in points good on those Guy's? That would be good stuff!! Cool

You never know who's going to get champion after 1 round, but many over here does know. Just like Roczen was champion after two rounds. And after round 3 it was Dungey. Guys please let's talk about everyones chances after, what should i say, 12 rounds? Maybe then there are 3 guys left for the title. There can happen so many things in a season. Two years ago there were AC, CD an RV2 they should fight for the title after the first rounds. Then there was Nagl who suprised en who thought by then that Romain Febvre claims the title???

In 2015 after 6 rounds Febvre was more then 60 points behind Nagl. Bet that after 6 rounds Herlings hasn't a gap like that on the red plate. People forgot already that a fit Herlings killed Cairoli in his own house at the Nations on hard pack in one of his first races on a 450. Wait till he gots fit, no one got anything for him, i'm sure...and yes i'm a fanboy, but not more then other Dutch riders. It would be great to see Coldenhoff get's the championship by example but i know thats not gonna happen

Cant compare Roczen to Cairoli. 222 is head smart beyond 94. Plus his ego's in tact, that's why it's worrying for other riders when 222 comes out firing

Did you not watch the nationals last year, or any year? SX is a different ball game to MX. Roczen is not a crasher outdoors.

Love to see Cairoli back on top. Injuries have a huge impact on how these riders perform at this level. When 222 is healthy it's bad news for everyone else. Yes, I'm a huge 222 fanboy from waaaay back.

That was not the point, the point was your not a champion after winning round 1 even if your Cairoli. I watched it with my own eyes in 2015 AC made a big mistake and went down hard. It can happen to all of them

That's what I think indeed. He's that good. Plus: people can fade or get injured. 18 rounds left, that's alotta points...

Here's a look at how the rookies did this weekend in the mx 2 class:

Thomas Kjer Olsen (EMX 250 champ 2016) - 4th Overall

Jorge Prado Garcia - 8th Overall

Darian Sanayei - 9th Overall

Hunter Lawrence - 11th Overall

Lots of room for improvement, but as the season goes on i bet we'll see each one of them in the top 5 or better quite often!

This! A healthy 222 is about the best thing in racing right now! I hope he lays waste all season.

i'd say Cairoli is motivated more than he has ever been this season to beat Herllings, reminds me of when JS7 moved up to finally take on RC and we all no what happened then

That is not his motivation i'm sure. He gets 32 this year and this is probably his last year he can be worldchampion
