Anyone catch this (Martin Heat crash)

Anyone else notice that Alex Martin's start device never released until he was headed to the dirt into turn 2 in his heat race crash? The front end never touches when he goes to slap the face of the second jump and tire doesn't come down to get any front break into turn two. I'd have to say this is probably a big part of why he ended up on the ground.

Good catch Sherlock! I totally didn't notice that. We should have know you'd be studying all the suspension action in slow mo....ha ha. That's a bummer for him because it did seem like it kind of set the tone for his bad night.

Wow, good catch.

I wonder if it was a malfunctioning device, or if he is just setting it lower then other riders. Crazy that it wouldn't release through the first corner or even the first rhythm section.

Never seen that happen before. I was bummed to see A-Mart have a crappy hometown race. I was pulling for him

It looked to me that roughly the same thing was going on in Forkner's crash in the heat race at Oakland.

I doubt there was anything wrong with his device, likely just down super low.

But since you asked, we already offer Race Tech ones by Tamer.

Wow. good catch !!!! They should outlaw those things already. Everyone uses them, so it wouldn't really matter.

Based on footage, I agree with this catch. And as for a more broad statement, as a rule: removing HSDs would only improve racing, reduce potential issues, and lower the cost for all involved in the sport, with no overall impact to competition.

Ah yes....I remember Tamer. I had a bike (Jeff Schultz claimed it was Justin's from 03) with Tamer graphics etc.

Wish I still had the bike. Loved the look of it.
