Herlings went over the bars after passing Tim...and Herlings' bike clipped Tim, causing his crash. Tim looked ok, Herlings looked...shaken.

Both are okay. Gajser finished the race and raced he superfinal, Herlings couldn't finish due to his bike being damaged, and therefore he didn't qualify for the superfinal. Herlings is apparently going to have a precautionary check up, but both will be fine for Qatar I think

I hope they are going to both be ready to rock.

We need 1 deep euro style sand track in our US outdoor series. Make it happen DC.

I've watched both Italian championship rounds on YouTube , was this at round #3? I didn't want to look for results or anything and spoil the race. Really enjoyed those first two rounds. Watched all the mx1 , mx2 , elite final's and the 125's.

If you can't tell...I'm jonesing to ride!

AC222 and JVH89 have both really picked up the pace this year. Heck so did Coldenhoff in that 2nd round! GP's should be really interesting this year!

Indeed it was round 3!

Apparently Herlings is getting a check up today, but doesn't sound like much to be concerned about. he will line up in Qatar I'm sure!

The problem is that when he goes down he goes down hard.

I think that Gajser crashes more but somehow survives and doesn't get injured as much as Herlings. Gajsers only injury in 2016 was at the SMX cup, that is remarkable if we consider how many close calls and big crashes he has had.

You've got to be joking - or, you've never ridden a Sand Track and found yourself on the ground in an instant.

Shit happens, especially when 2 of the fastest Motocross riders in the World are going at it, Hammer and Tongs.

The way Herlings got up, and his right arm / shoulder seemed to be hanging down, I thought, well, that's just fucked it........

That's always good to re-watch. I think the little bloke got the holeshot too, on a track that's very far from the usual Jnr one.

So glad he ended up OK after getting squashed by a Van.

Yeah Fuchetti was lucky after that car crash, injuries were horrific! Didn't he fuck up his pelvis pretty good?!?
2/14/2017 3:26am
Was that Cairoli a little way ahead?
Was it early in the race?
Was Herlings being a little impatient?
Is this going to happen quite a bit this season?
I just want them all to stay healthy and give us fans a season to remember!
PS: has there ever been a season with so many world titles on the track? Or GP winners?

Yeah I think his pelvis was the main problem plus maybe some internal injuries? Am I remembering correctly that he tried to stop a van that was rolling with no one in it at a servo?

Yep, thought as much, I'm going with Cairoli for the championship this year.
Herlings has too much pressure on his shoulders and could end up bringing the contenders down with him.
I really hope I'm wrong!

Shit! Yeh his instagram story would tells us otherwise now.

It's bandaged so can't be anything seriously broken, or damaged but still not good. He says he needs to be racing I Qatar, wonder if he will make it then, doesn't sound promising. Or will he just ride a safe race like desalle did last year and collect cship points, long season ahead.

I believe Herlings is finding, like many who have dominated in the 250f class before him & have been expected to instantly do the same in the 450's...it's a whole new ballgame.

I love watching Jeffrey ride, but that kid needs to work on his race craft and learn patients.

Funny that many here can tell what Herlings probably have to do better. He and Gajser are the fastest guys in the mxgp class, mark my words. En they are both that jung that they still could competite in mx2 class. So they have many years to learn. I think crashing is a part of the sport for those who aren't scared to go fast as they can and that you are when you are very jung...

Bummer. Hopefully he isn't going to miss any racing. It looks like a bandage rather than a plaster so that would suggest nothing too serious, still obviously not ideal though. He's got over a month till round 3 so hopefully he can just get through the first 2 and then be healthy at round 3
