I don't recall ever seeing that happen so many times in 1 race. Something about that track was very different and I don't think certain setups were right for it? It seems like the front would wash in the turns, then catch and Bam.

It made for some good highlight reels, but what was the cause?

I can't imagine going back out on an SX track with no front brake. Any word on Shanes bike problems?

I think part of it was just the dirt: it looked dry and slick. To me, Tomac looked tentative in the corners and it still bit him.

From where I was sitting it looked pretty dang moist, maybe that's what was messing with them?

Mookie's endo was crazy, then Ando hitting him and his bike flying. One crazy night for sure.

I'm thinking they are used to railing ruts in corners and the well packed bowls didn't work for the stiff forks they like to run.

A well packed bowl helps a lot of locals...

Driving home last night from the race there was a rather brutal looking full moon. This was clearly the cause of everything.

Schmidt did it in the LCQ. Looks like Tomac's was mechanical.

I think Tomac's brake caliper jammed after the wreck. Canard crashed 2 or 3 times in the same spot. A bunch of guys crashed there from applying to much brake while leaning over. It was an 85 foot triple that you had to land on the brakes and set up to turn. Front braking and leaning over in that clay base that's hard with marbles on top, doesn't work.

its possible to do it. Js7 was noted during his first win in dallas 2005 that his front brake failed. and he won.

also in MXA's test of his 2009 yz450f they noted how his front brake was very low, and that he only needed one set of pads, cuz he never wore them out

What's strange, is how many crashes there were for how easy (relative to recent races) the track appeared. It seemed that most everyone was running fast times so the track appeared to be less technical. Or was it?

They could have pushed the inside of the corner after the triple out 5 feet in practice when it was obvious everyone was going inside. That would have made the racing better.
