I love seeing 'alternative' designs, PhilG.

Reminds me a bit of that CR500 pipe from GR in Spain that was posted a fair few pages back. At the least in being quite a different design than is normal.

The header / divergent cone being so high, would make for great clearance in OFF Road / Extreme situations, and, with a bit more closer mounting towards the cylinder on the RH side, the belly / convergent cone wouldn't be much more 'out there' than a std type of pipe. Perhaps even a slight ovalization at that point, could make it have more clearance than std. I assume it's a mid / top end pipe, with a big volume, so with more normal volumes, again there might be better side / wheel clearance.

Of course, the divergent cone might just be served up an almighty hit, if a 21" wheel were on it, instead of a 17" Motard wheel? Do you think a 21" would hit it - it looks pretty certain it would - ? The divergent cone could be ovalised a bit, I would think, if just a 'bit' more clearance could accommodate a 21". Remember the 'Pancake Pipes' on the Works (Air Hammer) YZM500s, decades ago, as an example of pretty extreme manipulation of pipe shaping?

We have yet to do a clearance check proper, but it looks like it will be OK, we are on 16.5 front, but the rolling diameter is the same.

It is primarily an SM pipe, which we are hoping to get more mid and top, not worried about bottom, you can change down for that lol.

Haven't seen this bike until the last few years or so but always thought the frame looked good painted blue like that. Interesting the color seems different than the normal color Yamaha used on the steel frames at the time. Also interesting to see the ignition and countershaft sprocket covers appear to be the same molds as production but black instead of the grey color.

Not sure if they have a coating on the cases but looks similar to the cerakote grey coating some people use.

Best looking bike in here, even if it's not real.
And I'm not a Kawasaki fan. But that's some eye candy right there!

It must be quite a deal he's scored with that team, to walk away from the deal(s?) he earned, and earned well, with Honda from his 150f titles.

I wish the young bloke well, he has come across brilliantly when I've seen him interviewed ,and he's great rider. It would be good to see another Finn as a World Champion.

You are a magnificent bastard, Reese95w!

2 new (now 3, plus a cutaway of the Rotary Valve single !) pictures of the CZ 125 Twin, that I didn't have - thank you!

You seem to have just an ever so slight interest in CZs.

That the 2t twins were banned because they were 'complicated', and would drive up the cost of racing............. I think a twin cylinder 2t is still less complicated / easier to work on for the average Joe, than a 4t is for them.

And, Smezmx hits back!

With some Wonderful Weirdness, and then Blinged out bikes.

The 'Weird Ones', are the Best ones, always. Real engineering / build talent, over Bling. Not that I'd not want the Bling ones, if given to me.

Please help me. I've started to consider sining and going to the 4stroke side. May all help me turn around before it's too late. My current 2 banger; and yes, that's a 4 stroke trail bike in the background. Sorry.

Pleas help me pass on a new leftover kx450f. What the heck am I thinking??? Lol

Whatever you do....DO NOT TURN TO THE FOUR STROKE SIDE!!
Darth orders you to stay loyal to the two stroke federation and buy an impending 2018 husky 250 iinstead of that leftover green fart machine!!
I recomend at least a full on 2015> and up style rebuild with ALL the TRICK bolt on's for your current Yamazinger!!
Either way you can't go wrong Laughing
