Can I get one at a local hardware store? Kind of silly to pay $1.25 for a washer then $8 for shipping... seem to have a small leak coming from there

Not off hand but you can take your bolt with or just know the size and get one that will fit. Does it have one now and it leaks?

Instead of buying a new washer try annealing it. Heat up copper washer with a torch until it is cherry red than let it cool and it should work again. Have had to do it on brake lines before

You might be able to buy a 10 packets shipped cheap off ebay.

So many people have messed up cases because they reused the copper washer over and over

So on the bottom of my fc450 engine, there is a torx bolt that the manual says do not remove....why is it there?

Cut a bit of plastic to fit the drain bolt the size of the washer or even rubber from an old tube will work as a temporary measure.

Behind that bolt is a spring and steal ball which serves as an oil pressure release mechanism. I never removed this bolt, but at 10 hrs on my sxf450 I noticed an oil leak from this bolt. I have been f*cking with that leak for 2 months now. I have tried new bolts, washers and even took it back to the dealership. Still leaks, I just bought some Hondabond so I plan on using that with an aluminum washer. Hoping that will do the trick!

Yeah it's fine to do that. Reusing the washer once or twice is fine, most likely won't leak..

The copper washer is a "crush washer" The crush is the seal against the cases, I replace mine every 3rd time it is removed....waaayyyy cheaper than stripping case threads...

Thanks for that, was the oil leak ever that bad?

Give us an update when you figure it out. I think mine has a slight oil leak from behind the slave cylinder also, but it could be assembly lube?
