Nike for me are small and narrow. I wear a 12 in almost everything and Gaerne work great for me in 12.
I wear 12 in regular shoes, 12 in sg12 , but I have wide flat feet.

The SG-12's are the Best boot ever...if you have wide feet.

If you have skinny feet...then the Sidi crossfires are the best boot ever.

I love my SG-12's...great boots and I can wear them all day and not be dying to get them off at the end of the day. The only thing is the toe box is tall so.I had to lift my shifter up 1 notch. No biggie at all. The price is worth it and they are 1 of 3 companies still building in Italy so the quality is top.notch.

Does anyone own a set of these? $600.00 seems like a lot for a pair of boots? Also, does the size correspond…I mean is a size 10 really a size 10? I bought a pair of Fox boots last year and the size stated 11, I wear 10.5 & they just barely fit. Thanks
Don't waste your money. After a season or two those will be in a dumpster. Get SIDI crossfire 3
I have some from 2008 still going strong. You can replace each piece even the sole.

If he has wide feet he will not like the Sidi's.

Nothing from nothing but all of my racing friends that have gone from sg10 to sg12 went back to the cheaper 10's.. Said the 10' were more more comfy and durable. I am on year 3 I think of a pair of sg10's. FYI, we race XC/HS so 2-3 hour races. No issues with comfort and or knee braces

This.

The only thing with Sidi is the largest size they have is 14. I have narrow feet and wear 16, I really tried to get along with Sidi by squeezing them in the 14 but no go. I will save them for the kids.

My one son who is 10yrs old wears size 12. He has both Sidi and A-Star and says he like the Sidi due to the narrower fit.

Damn! Is your son interested in playing football for the Arkansas Razorbacks when he graduates high school? Smile We're known for having meat on our o-line and sending them pro.... Cool

Best boots in my opinion. I'm usually a size 11 in all shoes (running shoes, casual, cleats), but I had to drop to a size 10 in gaerne boots because I have really narrow feet.

They'll be true to size, you can get sg12s for 399, but they won't be the answer colorway.

No, that's a photo of Jessy Nelson, taken on a GoPro.

I can get most color ways outside of the ANSR editions. Much Cheaper.

I didn't like the metal toe cap and the way it had a lip because I would catch my toe on the shifter and brake when I didn't expect:

what this guy said above...

I tried the Sidi's... too narrow for my foot but great boot if they fit you. I then bought SG12's. This was 5 weeks ago. So far I love them. Really good... comfy. Good ankle support, easy on off... Couldn't be happier.
Tried a set of the new Tech7's... They didn't offer enough ankle support for me.

I have skinny feet...I tried on the SG12's and they felt way loose and like they had no support (toe box in particular felt massive)...tried on some Crossfires after that (and though I'm a 10 in everything, and had to get an 11), and they fit like a Glove! Most comfortable boots I've ever had on my feet. I've had them for about a year now, beating them up in the desert, and they still look great (besides some scratches, if I clean them up they look new).

What specifically did you use to remove the extra material after taking off the toe caps?

I'm also 10.5 shoe, buy SG12's in a 10. They fit perfectly. In A star tech 10's or tech 7's I go with 11's.

$600 is a lot for a pair of boots but I always do my best to choose good safety equipment. I bought a pair of SG12 boots Oct 2015 and was very happy with the product for 14 months. On my last ride Dec 2016 the pivot screw fell out, no biggie, I ordered a new screw and badge from Gaerne. When I got the screw and went to install it I found that the entire threaded insert was destroyed, how that happens I don't know. Called Gaerne and they said after a year I am out of luck. 14 months of riding, maybe 25 rides, and I am out of luck?!?!

I have had two pair of Alpinestar Tech 8s that have both lasted me 8+ years (each pair). I am a weekend warrior, c rider, I ride about 20 times per year, nothing too serious or hard on equipment. At this point, I will be going back to Alpinestar with my money. I am sure this is a freak thing with Gaerne, but the fact that they won't deal with this freak thing that cost me a lot of money surely makes me sore.

That's where I got mine from this summer, I got the grey and orange and I love em. Best deal I found! They are a big profile, big protection boot. They took some getting used to for me but I love em now!
