I wish they were mine, just some nice ones off the interweb . I have a Dodge Challenger but want to do a El Camino next but I will need to start with something like this first. Wink
But this is what I want to end up with.

That's as Kool kat as a Camino in my book. Nice

I love El Caminos. I owned a 71 SS 454 back in the early eighties. I had it for six months and it got stolen and I never saw it again. I look at them on craigslist from time to time and wouldn't mind having one as a fixer upper toy.

I wonder what the bars are for on the one in the op?

Yeah I can't figure out the odd roll bar set up on that dealio ? Or are they for something else all together? Hanging laundry. I got me a '70 CT70 now, gonna paint in spring to match ElCamino. Tryna to stay hip.

It was at the beach and there were quite a few mals out being small and off shore so I'm guessing they're to carry the board

I was ready to pull the trigger on one of these a few years back but then GM pulled the plug on bringing them over from Australia.

They are still available (from Colorado) ...... http://lefthandutes.com/

The "ute" has a long history in Australia, dating back to the 1930's. Both Ford and Holden (GM) have continued to make them right up to the current day.

The latest HSV ute has the 6.2 litre supercharged LSA Chev small block V8.

Trading a '62 bone stock Chevy II Nova (2 door/little bit a of rust) for a '69 El Co. Any takers? Always loved pre '70s El Caminos.

The trunk is sealed so it wont get any liquid in it even when you opened it when wet but I never had a gas can or bike in it, that's what my van is for. Blush

Interesting seeing some similar styling cues between the different country GM designs

Ive always wanted to build a El Camino MX hauler.

curious why they aren't used more by riders. seems the low bed height would be a huge plus.

Like the Ranchero but I'd take a Windsor any day. So much more aftermarket potential not to mention tons cheaper and more plentiful. You'd lose a little in uniqueness though.

Back in the 70s you would be surprised how many people at the track were hauling their bikes in El Caminos and Ranchero's
