Love the Terrafirma with McGrath and Lamson, still have both 1 and 2 on VHS, but I believe it was DV12 that really started all the goon riding before that. Not for sure but pretty sure it was him. Maybe he will chime in and set me straight.

The Terrifirma 2 goon riding by MC and Lamson was in 95/96.So it definitely is ahead of DV' classic goon riding on the Factory Yamaha which was around 2000-2002 era.

But I remember an old Commotion by the Ocean race at Carlsbad Raceway in 1988 that Ricky Johnson was at and won the pro class, and some random moto (non pro), he rode a clapped out bike (not his normal factory Honda) and wore Life's a Beach shorts over his Fox tiger striped pants, t shirt,a beat up no visor helmet, and goon rode his way through the moto. Doing tricks off the infield table top jump and then crashed on the finish line jump and let the other guys past. I was a kid when it happened, but I have pictures of it I'll have to dig up and post. That might have been the first real goon ride by a top pro.
