I could not believe Weimer beat him in the semi, coming off the couch on an unfamiliar bike. Strike one for the wily veteran. Finished one position behind Coop in the main. Is Webb perhaps nursing an injury?

Weimer: has been on a Factory Level Suzuki since SX 2016.
Has base-line settings for the Suzuki.
Has SEVERAL SEASONS racing 450SX.

Cooper?
He's a legitimate "Rookie".
He rode "smart".

I didn't see this as passive aggressively shitting on Weimer. He was simply pointing out the facts since MX Puke was incorrect. Weimer has the experience so its not really surprising that he was ahead of Coop.

I've noticed a trend since that bike came out in '10; physically larger dudes and guys with smoother riding styles (Millsaps, Reed, Peick) seem to do okay on it. I actually thought Millsaps looked pretty good on that bike back in '12 or whenever it was that he rode for JGR. Physically smaller guys and guys with more aggressive, over-the-front riding styles (Stew, Barcia...Webb?) do not seem to mesh with the bike. Others have pointed it out before, so nothing new here, but I see Cooper and the Yamaha guys juggling setup a lot this year trying to get him comfortable on that thing.

In theory, the reversed motor makes sense from a "centralization" and power perspective, and definitely seems to work well on the 250F. But on the 450, the extra weight/width/inertia, etc. seems to create a wide feeling bike that doesn't like to turn. I haven't ridden one, so just an observation. I think Yamaha has itself so invested in this platform that they aren't going back, especially since the 250 shares the same design and has been the most successful 250F of the last 3-4 years. Hopefully they can make it work for Webb.

Really?

That's what you take away from that?

Show me where I throw anyone under the bus and where I've EVER not been a fan of Jake's?
Most notably: show me where I'm wrong.

As for Coop's ride: it was "smart". We've seen him do this before, too.

Haven't the two guys who've actually won the most on it been Stewart and Barcia? Stewart has 8 wins, Barcia has 2, I think......

I don't think Webb podiums this year..
Maybe if he jumps on his star 250 from last year? That 450 is the definition of awkward

I just hope his next post race press conference is at the adult table and not the kids table. No disrespect to Tomac or Webb, but parading the 5th and 10th place finisher out for their own conference? Reminds me of an old Reagan video. Something about a microphone.

Man, I really hope so. Since the first time I drove an RX7 I have been absolutely hooked haha. Engine is currently out of mine and receiving a bit of a "Brappy" port job (cough....BIGGG bridgeport). If the new RX7 is actually released I will be one of the first guys at the dealership bugging them for a test ride haha.

You have yours out and about lately?

Only Mazi in our garage is a CX5. Our old "8" is still in the family and is a daily driver in Reno...with Blizzaks!

I think the new car will be called a "9"...I think.

Have you driven the new Miata?

I have not driven one, but I have gone to check them out. My mom was interested in one but ended up going a different direction.

I had Blizzaks on the back of my RX7 when it was my only form of transportation haha, always got me where I needed to be...Just too a whole lot of throttle from time to time.

Good thing those bikes ride themselves..... hell put me on that Honda and I will be on the top step of the podium.....

Joking of course. I understand not all riders gel with a bike, but this was his first real SX and possibly he could have ridden tight or who knows what? Maybe somebody should ask him what is wrong?????

Not sure on the numbers, but that sounds right. Championship caliber guys are capable of winning on any brand, my point was that watching those guys ride the YZF they just don't look comfortable on the bike. When Stew switched to the RMZ in '12, he came out blazing fast and smoked Dungey straight up at Hangtown and Freestone. At no point in SX that year was he on point like that.

Barcia looked pretty good on the YZF during the second half of the '15 nationals. But other than those few races he's been pretty mediocre. Eager to see how he does on the Suzuki if he can stay healthy.
