I'm a public servant, military retiree, my son trains in the backyard on a little track I built with a blade on the front of a wheeler.
Want to come over?
No offense to Ford but sitting in shooting from industry seating, everyone around me was commenting about him being in the way and I watched him make quite a few guys check up all over the track. He may have busted out the main triple but it was a bit scary every lap...
Ford was 21 seconds slower per lap than the 40th qualifier, 27 seconds slower per lap than the top qualifier. Mark was 9 second off the top qualifier and 2.1 seconds off the 40th qualifier.
Only thing that needed was a "bro" at the end.

Get on a bike and try it, or you can keep wondering why everyone was rallying behind a 40 yr old 2 stroke rider and not showing any attention to a certain woman rider gifted into a night show who cant beat top 5 ar a local B race
Funny, my Facebook is blowing up with riders that know him, ripping Mark a new ass, and the keyboard experts are ripping on me. They must not like me exposing the keyboard Roczens and Dungeys
Kick his ass, Sea Bass!!!!
I think he'll do a little better at round 2.

Am I the only one that sees a resemblance here?? No wonder he's a badass!
Jokes aside I have raced him a couple of times in the Vet classes locally and he did smoke my ass, but I think remember crashing his brains out too once. I do agree that those laptimes kinda put him on the highway to the dangerzone as far as supercross track goes, but I don't know the whole story, maybe he has way more potential than that. And whatever, it's none of my business really, good for him for living the dream.
Pit Row
For the record~ He is allowed to be on the track because of the rules. If you're going to hate on someone it should be on the people who write the rules.
On a side note about people being on the track with riders who are faster then them.
My 1st race ever was in a CALVMX race at Glen Helen. Chuck Sun and Scott Burnworth were lined up in the same gate as me although they were in a different class. This was back when they had that huge tabletop right after the 1st turn.
So the gate drops and I find myself battling for the holeshot and I'm thinking to my self "well this isn't so hard". I hit that tabletop 4th gear pinned on my 85 yz250 and came up a little short with my rear wheel hitting the lip of the landing kicking it up in the air. I landed on the front wheel with my feet off the pegs doing a nose wheelie. I don't know how I didn't crash. Needless to say my tires never left the ground the rest of the race. Best part of the whole day was when Chuck Sun put me over a berm as he was lapping me for the second time.
Seriously, where are the threads about the rest of the 21+ place qualifiers? Riding a two stroke gets uber attention. Isn't that what it's about half the time?
I tried SX for a year, it's hard no doubt and I ended up on my head quite a few times. That's why I'm doing this gig instead now, ha!
Notice in my comparison of Golden and Ford I didn't bring up her one night show, because yes, it was somewhat of a gift. I brought up the rounds she didn't qualify and how much closer she was. When she tried at Atlanta last year (first east round) she was 10 seconds off the top qualifier and 3.5 seconds off the 40th qualifier...she actually beat five or six riders overall. And as I stated in that comparison itself, it wasn't a shot at Ford but a comment about how people view him vs her on support vs bagging on. On here it might be supportive but in the stands where I was, there were head shakes and comments from other riders about being happy they weren't in that practice.
All-in-all I simply agree with those questioning safety in this. Is it cool the guy is 40 and trying to qualify on a two-stroke? Hell yeah! Is it cool that he's rolling around and a higher safety concern than anyone else on the track? No, not at all. The grandfathered clause for this makes me scratch my head. As the current AMA rules only allow you to continue SX racing if you've made a night show within the last two seasons or otherwise you're back to Arenacross. Local AMA races, Amateur nationals or Pro nationals have nothing to due with keeping your SX eligibility under the current rules. One such friend of mine, Ryan Surratt, was actually in danger of losing his SX eligibility as he qualified through Arenacross two years ago but stayed amateur. If something happened and he didn't make a night show this year, he would have to go back to Arenacross. That goes for anyone in the newer generation, if you miss two seasons of SX night shows, you have to re-earn your way back in. Unless you're coming from outside of the US and have scored points in a MXGP with a FIM based license (not AMA based license).
Give it a rest. You're all trying hard but it's a pipe dream. You're about 05% as cool as you think you are and 90% as insulting as everyone else thinks you are.
Go have Mom make some dinner and go to bed. Don't you have school tomorrow ?
He he he.
Just fueling the fire. ;-)
