I wish that Feld would put Houston back on the schedule already. I doubt the attendance is the reason for them not to put Houston on the schedule. The parking cost and just trying to leave the Arlington event are crazy. Bring Supercross back to Houston, please!!!

Wish it was still in the Astrodome, or perhaps an updated version. There wasn't another Supercross like that. It's where I saw my first SX in 1988. Ward won. Then in 1990, everyone wanted to see what Bradshaw would do. I'll never forget seeing him triple past Johnny 'O right in front of me. Check it out here, start at 2:00 and the pass is around 2:10.

But yes, bring Houston back. There are palm trees and a slightly coastal vibe, a tad bit more like Anaheim than Dallas. =)

They were stupid to schedule it for the same weekend as the Austin MotoGP race the last few years!

I had attended with my dad almost every Houston SX since the early 90's only missed a few. And don't forget the last one was scheduled the same time as the big NASCAR race in Dallas and the Moto GP race in Austin. For anyone to think ticket sales would be up going against those two events makes no sense.

the talk is that it will be back for 2018, the Super Bowl being there this year is what has messed it up I guess.

This is not a criticism of anyone but just a curiosity -- I can't fathom what up in the wiring of someone's mind would cause them to "want" to go see NASCAR (or even Moto GP) compared with Supercross. I just wish I understood it. Comparing these sports, their decision just doesn't compute for me.

I hope it comes back and stays back. The superbowl being there sounds like a good excuse, but they are still doing monster truck events.

I myself have been almost every year since 1990. It was better in the astrodome for sure.

Your agerage Monster shirt wearing Joe isn't diehard moto fan and could easily go to another event where his regular Joe friends are more likely to be.

Good observation, that does make sense.

Correct! The casual fan will only attend supercross if there is no other show in town.

The monster truck show here in New Orleans consistently draws 3 to maybe 4 times the spectators than when the supercross was here. Mind boggling!

Houston SX attendance has been declined for several years. Doesn't matter if there is a Moto GP race 150 miles away in Austin or a NASCAR race 200 miles away in Dallas or a NHRA National 30 miles away. To be successful Supercross needs to bring in the casual fan. Unfortunately the demographic in Houston has been changing over the years. While Houston does get THREE Monster Jams that sell out, it was difficult to get 30K in for SX.

Speaking of demographics, So Cal has the perfect demographic for SX and not so much for Monster Jam. That's why they 4 SX and one Monster Jam.

Something to remember, ANYBODY can understand what is going on at a Monster Jam. It takes a fan of SX to understand or relate to what is going on at a SX.

However, my sources tell me SX is coming back to Houston in Twenty-18. Hopefully some of the Monster Jam crowd will check it out this time.

Look at the NASCAR fan base which is around 75 million viewers then compare it to supercross, and see where the fan draw will be.
