Matthis tweeted that he heard malcom Stewart will be on a Suzuki at A1.. Im assuming just as a privateer. If he's coming out of pocket. Why the hell would he ride. Suzuki over a honda ( obviously fimalier) or a yamaha?

I think he also mentioned there was probably no shortage of factory parts for a Suzuki around the the Stewart compound

I don't care what brand he is on....just find a way to get on the line and make it happen. He has the talent and skills to make it work.

What a pisser not to have a ride from one of the Top Guns, not only has he proven himself, but he has a huge personality, anyhoo, I wish him the best, whichever bike he shows up with. Give all the big dog's a little Priva-tear hanky.

Maybe he thinks a Suzuki will be the first bike that needs a replacement rider?

I wonder if Malcolm had some factory options but would not agree to certain stipulations?

He won a regional supercross series(on the weaker coast) after 6 years in the class then sat out outdoors. Not trying to minimize his accomplishments, but nothing about that screams "we gotta find a bike for this guy".

He said he didn't.

I think him trying to wait on Geico kinda screwed him.

Not only did you intentionally minimize the accomplishment of his championship, you neglected to include the fact that he had no contract nor offer of one to race outdoors. Pretty good for "not trying."

I don't care if he rides a Huffy as long as he shows up and rides like he did or better than last year! The factory teams will come a crawling.

In the Geico 450 thread it was mentioned that, "Honda offered bikes and some support to do it (put Malcolm on the 450), but ultimately there are a few reasons why they decided not to do it." Maybe some day those reasons will become public knowledge, but until then hopefully there is at least one Stewart on the line at A1, on any brand.

There's only one thing wrong with that logic.. He rode like he did last year and they didn't!

I'm not sure he'd be a massive threat, there's plenty of 250 SX champs in the 450 class and hasn't he raced 450 SX and not done that great? That's an honest question, I can remember he raced Daytona at least but cant remember any results

Do you have any insight as to why Geico didn't come to an agreement with Malcolm, or what the major obstacle was which couldn't be negotiated? Much of the speculation involves family members, but those seem like issues that could be resolved, in light of what's at stake. Does Mookie have an agent, other than big James?

Why do people think Malcolm is so deserving of a 450 ride? I am an investor and I would never consider investing in Malcolm. Even with a factory machine, we can say "mid-pack".....not worthy. Same with Wilson. Mid pack will not get you sponsored (obviously).

On the other hand, I would invest into James. He is an icon in this sport, no matter what anybody thinks.

Riders are replaceable. Icons are not.

And for the people that claim drugs are the issue, get a grip!

I typically go to 8 or 9 supercross events each year. Without James on the line, I will go to 0 events. This industry has been taken over by a circus (literally) and it is becoming a reality more and more each year.

Feld need a competitor!!!

I couldn't have said it better myself. I am huge fan of Malcolm but he has not made the right decisions this year and his championship is on par with Bogle and Hahn's. Awesome they accomplished it but they didn't do it in convincing fashion.

Watch it...that's dangerous ground. I got slapped down by the "Stewart thread police" for asking those kind of super-secret questions on the Mookie Geico 450 thread! Blink Dry

You typically go to 8 or 9 supercross events each year but you'll go to 0 this year without James on the line? James has only been on the line 4 times during the last two supercross seasons but you've still gone to 8 or 9 races each of those seasons. How's this year really much different?

He did just beat Barcia, if he keeps that up, his stock will be thru the roof for sure.

I wouldn't describe it in those terms. Seemed like one poster was having a bad day and got a little testy. I've heard some rumors which, if true, would create some doubt in the eyes of potential sponsors. I'm curious to know what the reasons were that resulted in Geico deciding not to put something together for Malcolm, as I'm sure many others are. Careers in this sport are short enough without poor decision making . I can't help but think that Malcolm could benefit from some sound outside advice about the direction his racing career is taking, and the best way to reverse the trend of the past year. If he doesn't have an agent, other than pops, maybe now would be a good time to find one.
