Perhaps it Suzuki, Honda, and Kawasaki that should be tarred and feathered. Yamaha continued to offer a very competitive two stoke line when no other Japanese oem did. I understand that people like shiny new things every year. But I promise that if you were to ride a new YZ back to back with a new KTM, you wouldn't be disappointed in either bike. They're both awesome.

Transworld has a video of their first impression on the KTM. The test rider pretty much raved about everything on the bike, and even said the air forks felt just as good as his SSS. Sorry I won't be able to provide a link right now, just go on TWMX.

I wont believe what a mag says. the cannondale and the 97 cr 250 were received with raving reviews. it might be a great bike. so i will wait and see. Keefer says it is way better but still not sure if he likes it more than a yamaha.

I think you're right about both being great bikes, but as a YZ 250 owner, I'm going to say KTM finally put the nail in the coffin.
Having a wider spread of power, adjustable PV and finally a set of forks that work without a full re-valve and a counter balancer just brings it to the next level. I don't need a counter balancer, but if it adds a little flywheel effect, I'm all for it.

I think these new 250 KTM/Husky's will be the best production 2T 250 motocrossers ever. The last few years they have been in good competition with new and old rebuilt Jap offerings when in race state, and the development and their design and build quality has really caught up (anyone who's been around long enough and rode old KTM's will know what I'm talking about), and you could argue the last few years what's best depending on your riding style/knowledge/back up/taste, but these new generation of KTM MXers I feel are going to be just that much better you'll need to spend the time and resources DB has to be competitive. The new era of forks and suspension, mass centralization, a counter balancer with no vibs and ridable power delivery is going to wake up the East. My pick is for the husky to win the shootouts also as their suspension engineers seem to have a better feel than the KTM guys IMO.

Flame away!

You were spot on!

Is there any word on the 300 kit and the aer spring conversion? I have been waiting for the 2017 crf450, but this new ktm really has me interested in switching back over to the dark side.

I know that KTM offers a 300 sxs kit for the 250 and there are multiple companies that offers spring conversion kits for the AER48 fork.
Converting the AERs?

Wow. That looks amazing. Kinda old school Yamaha, Mixed with Rockstar Husky, and very very clean lines.

And I'm a sucker for anything with a cone pipe. That is like the cherry on top. It just makes it that much better. That is one sexy sexy scooter.

I actually was stupid enough and bought the spring conversion hype and got a K-Tech conversion kit.

Worst thing ever.

The AER forks are in my opinion the best stock forks out there(i havent tried the new Showa forks that the 17 Honda uses).

Got some catching up to make my 2017 Katoom look as good as that Husky, But here is a Scalvini on a KTM. Sorry I haven't installed the silencer yet (strange you have to bend to fit your own brackets??) By the way if anybody wants more mid top out of your 2017, this pipe does it!
