There is no way I'm letting a dealer crack bolts on my new bike!!

Yeah probably, RacerX has a new overall video/review of the bike... http://racerxonline.com/2016/10/23/racer-x-films-2017-honda-crf450r-test

So he has ridden Honda since 05 and is a Honda dealer and he thinks it's a fantastic bike?!?! No shit! He even has red glasses on ffs. Lol. Can't wait for some balanced opinions on this bike because it sounds great but I'm taking opinions like his and Andrew shorts with a large pinch of salt.

This is getting silly now I was with Roczen now they've lost me. Roll on the Vital Mx review.

One things for sure..The bike is head and shoulders better than the 13-16's! Your not gonna have this many test riders all say basically the same thing without some truth behind it..so we know the power is way up and gonna be competitive with the most powerfull bikes in the class..the suspension front and back is pretty much on point and has gotten very good comments by all..the handling is precice, accurate and the bike is more stable..the clutch was regarded as very good by most...and its the cleanest, most racy looking bike of the bunch....good enough for me.
Will it win the shootouts? From the sound of it...yes. But it dosnt really matter...cuz the old crf's didn't win the shootouts and they are great bikes..and the new one is better in every way....case closed.

That was painful to watch. Racer X really needs to stop with these. Waste of time and resources. And it's amazing how source criticism is so low for some people. It's nice to hear what new features a bike has by a paid Honda guy(or someone with a Honda agenda) but these thoughts how good of a bike it is is totally irrelevant.

Just have Ping do the dialed in videos, that is a good concept. Shootouts are not relevant in 2016 in my opinion. There wont be a single bike in 2017 that is going to be so bad that we as consumers would make a bad decision choosing bike brand X or Y. Go with the bike and dealer that you can get the best overall package with.

Am I that angry?! haha...

I don't know. I just wanna hear people like Keefer (Unless it's a Yamaha) or Ping who genuinely don't have an axe to grind and who's needs are a little more aligned with the mortal man.

A paid pro's endorsement will only work for a dreamer. For the dudes who have to work hard for their dollars and pay other bills also you wanna know what's what.

I think your correct but, and its a big but....they are not in dealers yet. By the time the bike makes it to dealers half the county will be frozen. They are losing out on sales by not having it on tracks across the country already.

I applaud Honda for doing something different with the suspension. Best looking Honda in years.

Something tells me the Honda corporation will get by lol..the only ones loosing out will be those who originally wanted the Honda, but purchased a different brand cuz they didn't wait..
Now they need to get serious about weight again and loose the duals.

Absolutely but that will be the first 200 bikes. The last race of my series is this weekend at Baja MX.

Honda will be just fine it just sucks that the production of the Africa Twin is eating up dirt bike sales.

It's not often that a brand makes a game changing bike, KTM did it in 2015.5/2016 (minus the 4CS fork). I thought the 13-16 CRF's were damn good (minus air fork, clutch and average engine). I agree with @deltadestroyer11 comments. None of us know but I'm gonna guess Honda has caught up to KTM (minus hydraulic clutch, E-start standard, sweet wheels, and heft). The look of the bike is impressive, best looking 450 IMO. A buddy told me that CR's are "too bro" LOL! Bro's like bling, so add some black wheels and red hubs, other bits, oh yea!

The track we rode yesterday was untouched other than some watering and fixing a corner we blew to pieces before we rode today. So things started rough and went from there.. I'm working on some more thoughts after also riding a 2016 model today. That really allowed me to gather my thoughts on the exact flex characteristic changes in the chassis.
hey ML512, you ok man? still waiting on that 2016 to 2017 comparison...

My uncle has a deposit on one and was finally given an out the door price of $10,664 and sometime around Thanksgiving. He about shit himself. He called around to quite a few places getting quotes and the least expensive he found one out the door was $10,658, 6 hours away and they wouldn't have them until December.

Hey Michael, did Honda say whether or not you have to remove the kickstarter if you are putting the electric start on?

i have never rode a honda in my life. kinda hate them (brand thing from when i was a kid) except all my heroes rode them. always kinda hated the look of them except for a few models.

all that being said, this bike looks good to me. If i was buying a new bike, i would seriously consider it.
