Does anyone know where to get a replacement throttle tube for the 2017 tc250 or the 250sx? I ordered a motion pro one from last year as I was told it would fit but it didn't. Not a big fan of the odi grips on the bike and I'm pretty sure taking the grip off the throttle side is a no go with these things.
Steely Dan said he got one from G2 in his thread.

Thanks, they had them available in plastic and aluminum. Nobody else had them yet.

I rode the 17 250SX for 12 laps at a KTM demo day yesterday and it was awesome. Super smooth with little to no vibration. Jetting seemed very good and it was fast. The suspension was great but the track was completely groomed so take that for what it's worth. I rode them all multiple times and my favorite was the new 350.

How would you explain the 350 compared to the 450, little snappier? Back when I tried a 2012 or so I thought it felt like a 250 2stroke but more linear and revved out further.

I rode one the first year they came out, 2011 I believe, and I didn't care for it. I've heard they've come a long way since, would love to ride another.

Ya, I feel the same way, I'd love to try the newest motor and chassis setup.

Congrats dude. You'll love every second of it.

Couple points after 4.4 hours on mine:

1) Check your fork air pressure to start with, mine was at 123PSI from the factory and it threw my settings off.

2)Make sure to keep an eye on spokes, they aren't terrible but I've been religious about checking them.

Minor stuff but hopefully it saves you a small headache. Enjoy. Let us know how you like it!!

Is it just my imagination, but wasn't that 03 450F 4 speed motor awesome? I thought it was super fast and pulled forever! Loved that bike. Thoughts on that motor?

It was so good I could've thrown out 1st and 2nd gear because I never used them. 3rd gear everywhere and sometimes 4th on the longest straights! The roll on was much smoother with the FWW and it stopped it from low rpm stalling when it was stock, later I ported the head and it became an absolute monster.

What slide were you running in all your 250sx carbs? I put a '03 PWK38as on my '17 and with a 168main, 38pilot, NECJ #1, it still wants to be leaner. I noticed it had a 6.5 slide so I put a 7 from a yz in it last night to try.

Thanks for the heads up! Spokes are something I usually pay pretty good attention to but I have heard these bikes loosen up quick. Hoping to have break in finished tomorrow or Saturday and have it to the track Sunday

gorgeous bikes in here.

@mx558 what did you ride previously? I'm considering a new or recent model 350sx-f

I rode 3 350's and 2 of the new 450s and all 3 of the 350s felt faster than the 2 450s that I rode. Both of the 450s weren't even as close to as fast as my 450 is which I thought was odd because I don't have much in the way of mods done to my FE450. The 350s were so much fun to ride and they had way more bottom than I thought they would and they revved to the damn moon! They were really quick from turn to turn. Even though they're only 1lb lighter than the 450 they felt 25lbs lighter on the track and were just super easy to go fast on. I had never ridden any yr of the 350SXF and I came away totally impressed with it. It's absolutely the perfect vet bike. I called the KTM rep who gets me my bikes and he answered the phone without a hello and just said "NO I'm not getting you a 350 so forget about it"

I used the stock 36 carbs slide which was 6.5.

How does it run with the Keihin? I order the jd kit but it does seem to lag a bit on the bottom now. These bikes are finicky, I'm shocked how much jetting changes the power characteristics.

Honestly I'm not sure how to answer you. Basically right now, my bike id an $8k pile of crap. It spudders at 0-1/8th throttle with both carbs and I can't get rid of it so far. I'm waiting on my dealer right now for resistance specs from the service manual because I'm 98-99% sure I have a faulty ignition. The leaner I go the better it runs, but I'm down to a #35 in the PWK and a #25 in the TMX for the next ride, but that just isn't right.

I didn't read through the whole thread, so my apologies if it's already been brought up, but there are issues with the reeds/cages on these bikes. Have you inspected them to mke sure the reeds aren't warped and that they are sealing against the cage tightly?

It's gotta be something with your bike because with all the different jets it's never sputtered, just a difference in power delivery. I just went up to a 35 on the pilot with the jd, we will see how that works tomorrow. Seemed to work ok in the field behind my house, but hard to say until I get it on the track. I just ordered the power core silencer and the pipe is backordered but hopefully that gives it a little more top. You'll have to bring the bike down to ride at our track when you get it dialed. Yes, thanks! I did have a bad reed and Husky sent me new reeds. It did help because honestly it was just about unreadable before and it does run "better" with the new sealing reeds, but I have more going on than just that.

Since my last post I got an email with several pages of ignition readings from the dealers service manual so I'll be checking all of that stuff out tomorrow. I got the bike mainly for testing the AER forks, but I've basically spent 5.3hrs so far riding 2-3 laps and pulling in to change jets, lol. It's been a long while since I've been down there and I'm looking forward to riding there again sometime this winter.

Thanks, it's looking like an ignition problem and I just need to confirm some things with my dealer to verify and see where it goes. Bummer to deal with, but hopefully resolved soon...

Sounds like Deano's jetting is solid.

So I'm very close to picking up a 2017 250sx... anyone at or close to sea level that have found a solid jetting combination with the new carb? I live in Florida and trying to buy the right Jets and/or needle from the dealership at the time of my purchase. It seems that main jet 450, pilot jet 40, clip in second position on the stock needle 43-73, and about 1 3/4 out on the air screw is working but but between 1100 and 2500 ft above sea level. I wonder if anyone at sea level have tried this combo.
MXA tested at Glen Helen which is almost at sea level and they only went up on main jet to 450 and opened out the air screw at 2 1/2. Has anyone at sea level tried this combo instead?

MXA is horrible at setting up the 250SX, and have been for years....ktmtalk is good
