So has mr.GL cancelled next years race as well as supposively it was already added on schedule!! Guess attendance wasn't exactly what the so called higher ups liked but is was some decent racing and definitely a blast watching cooper run down half of Europe to catch and walk away from #84 IMO!! As far as Tomac, well everyone knows the deal with that!! He was flat out crushing the long sweeper at speeds that damn near looked like flat tracking!! Back on the subject that if the man could pull out of the mxdn then I'm sure the charolette race could and will be taken off calendar as well!!

No problem... I was there. No need to elaborate.

YS/GL have their own agenda. Forget them and get your posterior to an AMA race. I'd be happy to have you as a guest at High Point or Budds Creek. We do it RIGHT!

PM me if interested.

Ciao!

Not just saying this because I live in Charlotte.... but TV honestly did this track no justice. I was very skeptical going into it about how "legit" the track would be. I really didn't want my city to be the embarrassment of the series. But when I walked in, first thing I said was "holy shit they brought a lot of dirt in!!"

Obviously, nothing is set in stone with GL & YS... but from what I understand, everyone was really really pleased with the amenities Charlotte offered. Since the area where the track is hosts NASCAR, there's hotels and restaurants everywhere. I'd honestly be pretty surprised (and disappointed) if GL & YS decided to pull the plug on next year.

I think they are still planning to run the Charlotte GP next year. Whether or not they do remains to be seen. Looked like they had a decent crowd there this year, certainly enough to hear them on the TV broadcast. Whether that is the case next year after the cancellation of the MXoN I'm not so sure

Totally agree, it was a great race and the attendance was better than Cali.

Who cares?

They should do this race the week between the supercross finishing and the nationals starting.
Then perhaps, just perhaps you might get more US riders turn up as a warm up.

It would be really nice to see the opening rounds of the nationals combined with the GPs ( points counting for both series) . It would be good for the sport in general.
Oh well , I can't ever seeing it ever happening.

This, I agree and would probably add that he has just put the noose on the GPs in this country now. Painfully obvious he cares about nothing but his money. I understand you have to make your money BACK, but MXDN, should not be about how much profit you can make for yourself when it's about country pride. This attitude is what's killing this event. I was just starting to like, and get involved with, the GPs.......now, not so much.

They have a 3-year contract for this event so 2 years left. If it continues past that time is yet to be seen.

Simple question,

Do you think glen Helen had a contract for the mxon to be held at their facility in 2016?

From what I've heard the contract for the 17 MXON wasn't signed yet and when Youthstream told Feldkamp that the deal needed to be finalized is when he cited low attendance and that they would be withdrawing from consideration to host the MXON which then lead to Matterley being approached and the contract being signed with them.

Well I follow both series and despite all the negative reviews from a lot of people on this event it was some exciting action and not a bad track in person as tv didn't do it any justice at all!! I'm pissed big time with US getting screwed on the des nations and think it's pitiful that we had it yanked out from under us as like everyone else stated, it would have been packed with spectators and leaves a bad impression. For all involved!!

The nationals didn't get close to 10.000 spectators. The MXoN wouldn't get over 15-20.000, which would be very bad for that race.

We finally get a MXGP on the east coast and all you people do is whine like a bunch of little girls. Be happy there is a race of this caliber in the states and go support your sport. It's never going to grow unless people show up to the races.

The whole reason GL is being cancelled is because NO ONE SHOWED UP.

I was at Charlotte and it was one of, if not the best race I have seen all year. Most likely because I'm a Webb fan but either way it was legit.

I agree I wish the GP was on another track like Budds creek or something of that nature but at the same time you have to think about hotels and all of that for all of the teams and potential Euros coming over. Charlotte IMO was awesome regardless if the track was a prime moto track or not. I'd show up to any track on the east coast to watch all of these guys race again, point blank.

The MXGP/MXoN schedule has become a bit of a joke lately. I wouldn't buy tickets or make reservations based on it.

What National have you ever attended with less than 10,000 spectators? Every National gets at least as many spectators as you claim MXoN would get, which is just inaccurate.

The Glen Helen national didn't break the 10.000 mark. And for the other rounds you would be surprised by the real numbers.

I was at buffs creek as well two weeks prior to charolette and I swear I would be suprised if there was 10,000 fans there as well as I have been to many nationals there and crowd wasn't big at all this year but it was freaking hot as hell and many of our 450 pilots were absent due to injuries!! Cool thing was that I actually got to see Kenny and Coop get their championships that day and then got to see TG#243?and Herlings get their titles in Charolette as well!!! Probably only time I'll ever get to see that again!' Peace out moto brothers!!

The whole set up was cool and the track was bad ass and the first of its kind so imagine what could really be done with man made tracks.Move all the outdoor nationals to places like this. The good out weighs the bad by a long shot.

Pretty sad if true. I've been to at least 5 different National tracks the past few years and all had easily 10k. That's not on the west coast however.
