Looks a great time, hopefully it stays around. I would drive down for this next year.

A Nascar track like this really is the perfect venue because of all the things you listed. I am surprised they sold beer in the pits though.

How rowdy was the camping section compared to Redbud?

Rupert, do you do this for a job or are you just a badass that goes to awesome places?

The way you capture all the events you go to is incredible

Hey Rupe. Awesome pics. What was your opinion of the event as a whole. Would you say from being there that this race might have some staying power? Any obvious changes you saw might improve it? I read in the race thread that the track was shit by a lot of guys, but watching the race on TV this morning, I thought it was pretty decent. Looked like they could have increased the lighting in a few places, but the track, to me, had a GP feel to it.

1. Beer sales in the pits ? Insane, and I enjoyed it. 2. Suzuki team has, by far, the bestest tool boxes. 3. SOMEBODY find me a fresh, paying gig taking crappy pics or writing nonsense in this sport, please ? 4. ABSOLUTELY a tremendously fun and wonderful event, part local fair-race/ Supercross/ MXDN and hybrid GP/AMA circus - I ******* adored the entire show, 5. I couldn't have designed a better track, although I'd add a Herlings sand section.... 6. EVERYBODY i conversed with was excited and double super pumped about this dealio and its future. 7. LIGHTING could be better, much better,,,, 8. No lines at beer n food. 9. While crowd was reported at 15,500 - I counted about 8,457. 10. Stands half to two-thirds capacity, next year full, me thinks, 11.Celebs ? DAMON BRADSHAW, some Nascar dudes, Ralph Shaheen, Danny LaPorte, JMB, Big Donny from FMF, Josh Hill, Malcolm Stewart, All the Youthstream brass, Budds Creeks Jon Beasley, and a bunch of high-falutin' chicks with long legs and what not.12. HOTELS, restaurants and camping very closeby, excellent cellphone service...

I have three thumbs up, waaaaay up !

Excellent report. May have to figure out a way to get down there next year.Cool

Yeah, I first looked over and it was the MAN and the Mitch conversing, then the JMB made the duo a trio, and a friend pointed it out and, I was all over that schnizzle ....

Hey Rup, nice work for an ex-Navy kinda guy! Truly great shots and the chic in the holey moleys gets my vote. I was supposed to be there, but my Jet Blue buddy pass standby seat left me in the lurch when the flight was sold out...first time that's happened in all these years. WTF was Buydos wearing on his head? See you at Glen Helen?

That's not Buydos - an imposter with a carburetor headpiece, he's a Moto fan from FLA. I'm out for Cali. Broke and, all my black socks are dirty.

Wow, a Buydos dopplegangbanger!

I'm writing a column for Cycle News on the race and would love to use one of your shots. If you are interested, shoot Kit Palmer an email to: editor@cyclenews.com and see if you guys can work it out. Send him a link to this thread and I'll let him choose which pic he wants to use, after he reads my drek. He'll need a hi-res shot and I doubt you'll retire on what he pays, but that's twixt you two moguls. I already told him I wanted to run one of your photos.

Thanks, the photo's are awsome.
Some may say the track was not as good as could be, although it appears all agree the ammenities at these stadium tracks make for a great family day out.
