So like most of you, I've been thinking about what a solid move that was for Williams to stop and help Jessy Nelson after his crash. This got me to thinking about how Williams could be properly congratulated for what he did. Today the light bulb went on. What if TLD/KTM were to put him in the truck on their bike for the rest of the Nationals? Seems like a win-win, TLD says thanks to a guy that put his own race aside to help their rider, and he gets an incredible opportunity. Good PR for both sides.

Just throwing it out there.

I agree, great sportsmanship.
A small gesture goes a very long way.

I took some years off in my 20s then started doing some local races again around Wisconsin and Cody seemed to have come out of nowhere and was already a top A guy. Thought it was strange I didn't hear of him much earlier.

Cody is one cool cat. He would love that shot at factory equipment although I'd like to see him stay on blue.
But if they want to give him that ride ill get them in touch with him.

I would love to see that! Nelson is down with a broken back with his bike on top stretching his spinal cord and Cody without hesitation jumps off his bike and lifts it off him. Every second counts in that instance and without question he is a hero. It seems like TLD getting him on a bike would just be a positive for Cody and a positive for TLD. With all the sadness of the crash and injury I think everyone involved with the sport could use some positive energy.

It would be cool as hell, no doubt about it.

I've met Cody, he's a very cool guy. I'd love to see him get a shot with TLD. Only a handful of races left, let's see how he does when he's not at a HP disadvantage.

That would be so awesome if that could happen. He's a hard worker and it would be a great opportunity that he would make the most out of and make the team proud. He's been doing well in his first summer doing all of the nationals too.
He and his family are great people and I always remember being at a local race with a friend and his young boys who were just starting on 50s. I was talking with Codys dad between races and Cody came over and started talking to the boys about the track and their race and it made their day. He didn't know them but he's just a good person.

I agree. Would love for something to come out of this for him. In those situations every second counts. In both racing, and with an injury like that. No hesitation to give up on the race to help another human being out. Says a lot.

I'm picking up what you're laying down. Someone go scroll through the TUE file and tell me if Cody's paperwork is in order.

Cody is a hardworking, polite, intelligent, down to earth guy - as is his whole family. His sponsors have to just be thrilled with this young man and his character. He is a humble, quiet guy and to him, I know this wasn't a big deal...just doing what came natural. I'm sure he didn't think twice. He wasn't able to make the first few races of the series and he is starting hit his stride. I wish all the best for Cody and Jessy and both have good Karma coming their way.

Guys passionate that's for sure... raced both motos at Unadilla and drove straight through to Wisconsin for a pro am Sunday and was in the first practice at 7 am. Real core mx guy.

I value character over winning any day! A rider does not have to be the fastest to sell products! Any team that gives him a ride will get my attention.

I'm stoked that Cody had the awareness to realize what was happening and he had the mindset to react.

I'm thinking his Karma is solid and good things will come his way.

Stoked!

Surprised we haven't seen a feature on Cody here or at RacerX yet. I would like to know who his sponsors are. This definitely influences my purchasing decisions.

Also - he would never tell you though - He had to wait to take off for the all night drive to the Wisco race until the 4fiddy's finished up. He had had loaned a bike part to John Short so that he could finish HIS day out.

I think Racer X is going to be posting a privateer profile on Cody sometime this week.
