89 bucks isn't bad if you take care of your googles.
Exactly 89 isn't that bad and you always get stuff cheaper than retail online anyway. I just picked up a pair of 2016 Tyrants last week and have 3 other pairs that were purchased 2 or 3 years ago that are in excellent shape. I always wear 1 or 2 tearoffs so the lens don't scratch.

As an offroad guy...expensive goggles are a waste...I buy the cheapest I can find (though usually Scott) and rotate them...occasionally-if the foam and strap are in good shape-I'll buy new lenses.

But I couldn't imagine spending $90 on goggles, and then running a 3-4 hour, 100 mile hare and hound and filling them up with dust and sweat-that turns to mud, and wiping the lens with my gloves (scratching it all up)...

If I was a moto guy, I'd run more expensive goggles though.

I had Scott 89 no sweat Xi's forever. Actually I'm 19 now, my first pair of goggles were Scott from age 4-7, then I got the first set of 89's at age 7 with a KTM 50. After that I won another pair as a holeshot prize at age 13, and they've lasted me until last year when I bought a pair of 100% racecraft. If Scott released these a year earlier I would have bought them, I ride a lot of dual sport now and with a moto helmet the nose piece sure helps keep the bugs away.

Might have to try these when I find a closeout next year, but at the rate I use goggles I won't need these until I'm at least 30!

us offroad guys don't count, our shit get's used up, chewed up, spit washed, and put in the pack for a spare lol. the cycle is never ending.

I honestly don't see why scott chose to put such a wide strap on the goggle. It looks weird and probably makes the goggle less comfortable.

I'm an offroad guy too and yeah at the end of the race they are super dirty but just pull the lens out and toss them in the wash and they come out like new. Lenses are cheap and I always have an assortment of tints for each condition so if you scratch one up it isn't a huge deal. I wear 100% and last race I had to use the forecast roll off system and I had them on a pair I raced in all last year and a buddy asked if I got new goggles they looked so good. Just take care of them and wash them and they hold up a long time.

Since a rock cracked my lens on a pair of 100% goggles 1½ year ago i wont ride with a "normal" goggle with a lexan lens.

Paying over 100 bucks for goggles with a molded lens might sound ridiculous and stupid but i wont take any risks with my eyes when i ride.

I heard Polycarbonate is more shatterproof but scratches easier.
Lexan can shatter..but is harder and more scratch resistant.

Although the features I think are the best among the big lens goggles, I am once again unsure to buy because of the pricing. I really hope the new EKS Brand goggle is an alternative, as their price model offers by far the best value currently on the market.

Top Notch Quality? NOT! I was a Scott Goggle guy for ever!! When the foam started coming off on the first pair I said it must be a fluke... second pair same problem. Third pair the same!! These were goggles with little use!!

The dealer told me that Scott knows they have a problem but they won't do a thing about it. So... Scott lost me as a customer FOREVER!

I'd like to try a pair. Most large frame goggle don't fit worth a shit in my moto 9 flex. I broke 2 pairs of Spy ACE goggle this year already just from pulling on them after they get stuck in the goggle opening on the helmet.

Hopefully these are different.

The foam usually separates on mine and I toss them after a while. I had a pair of 100% Racecrafts that lasted 2-3 seasons as strictly race goggles, but I only hand washed them and took very good care cause they were on the expensive side of the cheap goggles lmao. I probably got close to 30 Hare scrambles out of them so 60 hours of use I had no complaints at all and went through about 4 sets of lens if I had to guess.

I have a couple sets of SPY woot goggles I got for $20 a set I'm using to race in this season. They are sh*t quality in comparison and one set the foam is already starting to peel after 8ish races probably only 4 were with this set on (the sets are identical and could keep track at first). 100% seems to be a good compromise price/quality, unless I just happen to get a defective one...

I've never had ANY issue with my Scott goggles...I've probably got 10 or 12 pair in my garage/gear bag (currently)...I've gone through several sets of lenses on most of them, and the foam hasn't started coming off of any of them (over several years of use).

Yeah I have probably 15 pairs from the last 7-8 years and the foam is still perfect on all of them and I even wash them in the washing machine, the foam has been the same on all of them as well, hasnt changed? What models were you having these problems with?

And I always buy the cheapest ones I can find...usually Hustle's, or 89's...I've never had the foam come off.
