I really like my SixSixOne boots. No break in time with the pivots on the ankles.

Most rave about the SG's, They are all pretty good. Sidi's are good if they fit your feet. I think it come's down to fit for me. I am still in my Oxtars, they are the best fitting and have lasted but I have not really been able to ride for quite awhile now. I have to add, all the high end boots are good, features are about the same. It really comes down to longevity, fit and price in my mind.

Anyone know if either one comes in half sizes?

That's the reason I've stayed with A-Stars....91/2 for me.

I have major problems with where the high-end price point is at right now. $500 for boots is just unbelievable to me, considering the abuse they take.

If all you do is moto, then they will at least last quite a while. But for off road use, they just take too much abuse to justify that price level.

I am a fan of the TCX line; biggest thing for me is how great the support still is, after two year-'round seasons. And they're $330ish. I don't believe you're getting $100+ more of a boot with the other brands mentioned (although I certainly won't deny their quality - Gaerne and Sidis are great).

SG10's are very good. Last great, and little to no break in time.

Haven't tried the SG12's, but don't like the price tag so much..

The fast backs are a lesser expensive version of the SG10, and work pretty nice as well.

SG 10's are the best boots you can buy in my mind.

Like sc961 said, I have not tried the 12, but I want to really bad.

But I would go with the SG's, they are what most people around here waer and I have never heard of any compliants.

Gearne boots rock.

Great fit, comfortable and they last longer than any other boot we have used.

That is way creepy, the second I scrolled down and saw that boot, 'New York Groove' is starting on my Winamp playlist.

SG10's.

I can't see too many paying the $500 price for the top 09' boots when the 08 SG10's are great and can usually be had at $350 and under.

As most will agree, all high end boots are good but if you are looking for the best protection along with no break in then you must choose the SIDI. It has the most plastic plates in the right places, and is the only boot with positive stops in the rear to prevent sprains. The SG-12's and SIDI's both have hinges and provide good side to side protection but the SG12 (or 10) does not have any positive stops to prevent fore and aft hyper extension plus i have found that the 10 and 12 both can irritate the ankle with the gel pads they use if you have fairly large ankle bones. The gel always goes back to original so it never breaks in in that regard. Also the SG series is stiff compared to the SIDI so required lots of break in time. The replaceable sole on the SIDI is another reason its the winner in my shoot out. All it takes i s a screw driver and 20 minutes and you have new soles!

Down side of the SIDI is the somewhat narrow and low toe box which is perfect for me to enhance shifting feel and no missed shifts. If you have wide foot, get the SG 10 or 12 if you are looking for a high end boot.

I have also owned all the Tech series and the 10s fit like a slipper but do not offer any decent plastic plates nor any fore and aft limiters. Not to mention they do not have hinges so they flex out in the ankle area which did eventually lead to failor in that area plus in general the boot fell apart all over.

For the money the SIDI is best but for much less you can get many others that will last a long time but with out the superior protection, comnfort and no breakin of the SIDI.

SG10's.

Had mine for a half year, fit like a glove from the moment I put them in there.

Another vote for Sidi. I have lots of ride time on mine. Buckles still work like butter. First boot I ever had that I don't mnd wearing all day a tthe track. I am going to order the new soles and replace them soon . 120 hrs of riding at least.

I LOVED my tech 8's....never had an issue with them. That pic of the tech 10s (with the buckles ripped off) in the other thread is scary!!! Especially considering their price...
