There's a beta dealer near me and they have a couple in the showroom. The last beta's I rode were trials bikes, which were good bikes. They don't use the KTM motor anymore and have oil injection system on the '16 models like snowmobiles use. Never heard of the suspension they are using, sach's? Has anyone ridden one?

On a side note our night series started last not and I'm kinda bummed im ot doing them this year!
spent about 3 hours on a '16 beta 300 over the weekend (very good friend of mine... it had 11 hours prior to me riding it). motor wise the bike is fantastic. it has a hair more snap off the bottom than my lectron equipped '15 300XC. there is a little lag in the mid range... nothing really drastic... just a small section where it feels like it takes a second to really get into the meat of the serious power and seems to rev nearly as high as my KTM. jetting in stock form is VERY good. the forks are better than the '13 i tested in april of '13 (i did not jive well with those forks). much less tendency to dive under hard braking and big whoops. they seem on par with a good friend's RG3 valved '10 300XCW. good on small chop but has a slight harshness in the mid stroke and when pushed hard will blow through the stroke. for fast trail riding the forks are great but i'd revalve it to race. the rear was a little "kicky" at first but we got it pretty darn good with a little fiddling in the high speed compression. really no complaints in the rear at all. handling wise, i loved the seat height for my vertically challenged 5'8" frame. made it very easy to dab in the uber technical areas. handling was good. not stellar but very good. back to back with my 300 it really was difficult to feel the weight, it hides it very well. the bike was a little difficult to get to lay over in ruts... it didn't stand up in them like my buddy's '16 WR450 but it definitely took more thought to really get the bike to aggressively lean over. once in the turn the rear squatted nicely and always did very well on the exit. the bike feels very narrow which works for me very well since i really like to squeeze with my legs. Brian likes his levers much different than i do but the general ergos were very good. one thing i did notice is that the peg to seat relationship seemed to be further than on my 300.... it made the transition from sitting to standing very easy. i was not the only one to notice that.
though the fit and finish was good, there are a few things that seem a little cheap. the plastics seem very thin and the headlight mounting tab was already broken upon delivery. i'm not a huge fan of how the shrouds meet in the middle up on the tank... not sure why but it just looks a little bit of an afterthought as does the exposed tank mounting tab and bolt that is above the cap. also, the tank just seems to have a cheap feel to it.... i can't really explain it... you just have to see it. otherwise the bike is beautiful! the push button seat removal is super nice and i have to say that i love the electronic oil injection. the bike has almost no smoke and absolutely NEVER loads up even when in the really tight areas for extended time when most of your work is done just off idle (the lack of loading up is on par with the lectron).
overall, the bike was a pleasure to ride and is very easy on the eyes. while i wouldn't sell my bike to buy a beta, i wouldn't hesitate to own one for single track riding and racing.

He did the Stimilon event at NHMX recently and it was okay there, but that isn't as jumpy as the rest of the New England tracks. (it's the best Vet track in New England though.) So it depends where you ride.
If you woods reg in Mass, make sure you go to Worcester and not Fall River. The difficult lady in Fall River has been confused by not knowing the brand. That was posted in another forum.
Thanks

I have a '15 500 RS 4 stroke street legal enduro. It is a great do it all bike that is much more suitable for MX than the KTM 500 EXC due to the Beta having linkage (like the Husky). The Beta doesn't need to apologize for it's MX capability at all, it rips. Stock Sachs suspension is very capable.
Lot's of good info to be found here:

I believe you can spec them with Marzocchi's which is the fork all their team guys run. BYOB program or one of the "race" additions if I'm not mistaken.
I just wanted to add a few bits of info here. We race and sell Beta's in the Northeast. The 2016 models are almost all sold out. Beta in general has had a 30% increase in bikes sale in the last year so sourcing some models is very tough. The 300 RR model is oil injected but is also sold out for 2016. I have called many local dealers from Ohio to Maine down to Jersey trying to purchase or swap out for the 300 RR and have very little luck. I may have missed one but they do not sit very long before selling. Beta has told us dealers that they will hold the 2017 release around July time frame. Many dealers are taking deposits to hold some of the first units to be shipped which should start to arrive at the dealers after August. We will order more of the RR and Race editions for 2017 so if I can be of any help please look me up. We have shop racers competing in C,B,A and AA Classes. Many of them run the Netra, Jday GNCC and some ECEA events.
Thanks
Dave
That's the one thing i'd love to do away with for a do it all, or should I say, the only reason I am still considering a FE rather than a TE Husky.
