As a loyal kool-aid drinker I want to say the bikes are awesome and get better every year. BUT, could you please do something about the ridiculous chain adjuster marks. Maybe give somebody a ruler and a pocket knife to scratch the swingarm before they leave the assembly line, so I don't have to do it myself. Anything will be an improvement. The little indentions they come with now suck, especially for those of us that are old and don't eat many carrots.

lol. I like to use line of sight along the rear sprocket and chain line to front sprocket because they can also be out. But then you don't want to be suspected of being useless by the owner so adjust it to the marks knowing it's going to prematurely wear things out. Oh well!

Those are probably a lot better than looking side to side 20 times trying to figure out if I'm close to same marks on each side

yep. just buy a broken 6" electronic set off ebay. as long as you can measure and lock it down on one side then set the other side to match, good to go.

Next time you have your axle out cut the grooves in the blocks deeper with a hacksaw. It still sucks but not as bad. And if you are just turning 40. Get an eye exam. Something happens around that time to your eyeballs and it starts wrecking your vision.

I'm 51 and vision has gotten awful. My arm is getting to short so probably have to get glasses soon. Only good thing about it is seeing my wife naked is just a blur

Just seems like this would be an easy fix for ktm. I've bought 9 ktms since 2011 and every one has the same ridiculous swingarm indentions instead of marks. Everything else has been upgraded, getting the chain aligned is still a pain in the ass

Those are the best but ours was a piece of s.... Still doesn't stop owners from thinking you screwed up and taking the bike somewhere else. Had a customer try to do his own oil change on his 450 after having some major work done. He went around town telling everyone we screwed up only putting in 500ml and just as i thought when we actually got the bike in, he had only drained the the oil from the filter cap cause that's all he could see. Motorcycle mechanics, much like this board is a fickle business

The naked wife blur is funny as shiot, seriously Laughing !! If you ever decide to have Lasik done look up N-Joy Vision in Tulsa, maybe they're in OKC too ? I'm 54 and did it two years ago, I love it and its the next best thing to buying a new bike, which I will be doing after my divorce is settled tomorrow. Woohoo Kissing Dry Who is your KTM dealer if you don't mind ?

Man its not just KTM's, I've owned suzuki's, yamaha's and hondas and they all have shitty chain adjuster marks. the most reliable and cheapest way is to get a 6' straight edge and measure from he flat edge on the swingarm that the adjuster bolt lock nut tightens on to the flat of the axle block.

KTM updated their swingarm and axle block for 2017 models. The adjusting marks on the new version are much more visible. I saw new 250 SX-F when I visited local dealer yesterday
