Basically they shit-canned a member of the team who it sounds like actually told the truth to the powers that be which painted the team in a less than favourable light (to put it mildly).
Broc embarked on an poor attempt at spin which while semi-admirable, damaged his credibility and which some of you swallowed hook, line and sinker.
PFitzG38, you sound like a switched-on bloke.

I only felt compelled to respond when I read your post. Nothing too convenient, I still had to type it?
She doesn't sound like a hard ass with a gun if she was in tears.
If she was out of line at all I'm assuming we would've heard by now from some of the calmer heads that were there, or seen video; however all we hear is the exact opposite from an impartial eye-witness.
I'm operating in true Vital fashion by assuming, jumping to conclusions and only going by what I read on the interweb. In other words this only my opinion and I could be completely wrong in my interpretation.
I don't know any of the instigators either and I'm only going by 3rd party accounts of other prior incidents, you'll understand when you read the entire thread.
Slater could be a great guy, but I've heard otherwise from multiple people I respect. I probably shouldn't have called him an asshat though, I heard someone else get called that today and I liked the sound of it - my bad.

If you have some sort of actual proof, then you would be better served providing such information. There seemingly is a substantial amount of first hand accounts coming from reputable sources indicating your team owner and mechanic handled things very poorly.
His own team has thrown him under the bus by trying to turn him into a bridge salesman on this forum. I understand him doing as he was told though in order to keep his job. He should stick to his day job though.
***Edit***
PS. I'm not meaning to have a crack at him. I respect him as a rider.
There are certain posters that are always "offended" by some meaningless shit someone in the industry did. Get a life!
Rent-a-Cop with a massive ego crosses paths with team owner with a massive ago. The end.
Man, good thing there hasn't always been the internet. The past would have been altered significantly.
Pit Row
Only you here that have ever actually met my teammate, Broc Schmelyun, would know the truth and honesty of his words. I have been John Slater's partner (marketing) in building this team from absolutely nothing but a dream and have EVERYONE (even most of you here) tell us we'll never get it off the ground. There is so much passion behind this team it is indescribable....because we're trying to help this Neanderthal industry go find new food where it currently is only regurgitating it's own bile from its stomach lining. Those 'ugly looking plastics' and billboard advertising are a must for future business growth here.
With that said, my coworkers, under the unfinished-bike-being-delivered circumstances, were understandably emotional and I'm sure frustrated with security. Our mechanic does not lie. He said 'in no way shape or form were there any racial slurs thrown, whatsoever.' That will never be tolerated whe I'm involved. Through 10 pages of posts there has only been one member here that was actually present (so he's told me over the phone but cannot be verified to truth) during the initial gate altercation.....Rock. Rock was previously released from the team under 'MUTUAL' agreement from both parties at Glen Helen '15. DC himself said he had no idea of any of this happening without Rock's interpretation. All due respect for LB and being involved for West Coast SX (even after we lost Bloss 4 days prior to the East Coast opener under his management??) but he was already let go from the team, we just never went public. Why do you think he was suddenly a mechanic for Outdoors. Both of these gentlemen are grinding axes.
So be it. This entire episode has been an embarrassment to the solid program we've worked so hard to build. The Alaskan Assassin is still in good hands and we're happy to hear that Ryan Breece did not break any bones after his big crash at GH.
We will continue push forward and exemplify the utmost professionalism for all our sponsors as well as this industry we can never leave.
