Thinking about maybe picking up a van to haul my bikes. Are pretty much all of the regular size vans big enough? Height a problem? I'm seeing a bunch of E250's for cheap.

I had an extended full windowed ford 15 passenger van. removed seats, blacked out windows. No one would have ever guessed it was full of bikes.

Ive got an E350 with a divider wall and have been able to get three bikes in it. the handlebars clear the roof by about 2". My buddy has a chevy and the back doors open up alot farther than the fords. i really like mine, but its got a f.i. 460 and gets about 7 mpg.

The E250 should do it for you unless you are hauling more than 2 bikes and gear.

If you want to have room to change and sit inside when it is raining then go for the E350.

Got the E-150 that works perfectly. Long bed as well.

Had vans all my life except one Nissan P/U had new. Vans are way to go; stay dry.

Just hope gas doesn't go crazy again.

Sprinters are actually quite nice, what with the height. Makes it a lot easier to get bikes in.

Sprinters are the way to go, full stop. Height is really good, as is fuel consumption.

Some of the Off Road guys with the Sprinters have them set up really cool.

Dollar for dollar Ford Econolines are the best deal if your only criteria is hauling to and from someplace. They get about 12 mpg on regular (which is 40 to 60 cents cheaper than diesel in California) and they have pretty decent reliability. If however you value room when loading, a place to stand and change and generally just more room then get a Sprinter. 18 to 22 MPG but they are going to cost you twice as much new or used.

As an added bonus the Sprinter looks "Factory" where as the Ford looks like a molester van...

Have you seen those damn Sprinters? If not for the price of them and the price of gas I'd be sporting one around town.

The extended fords, enough room to sleep in it without unloading the bikes is nice.
