I bought two bikes from them the last couple of years, went to their website today and the domain is for sale.

anyone know if they are still open??? i know they were a pretty cool MX in the past- i live right by Nielsens, and everytime i need a new bike Nielsens want full MSRP + $450 freight and setup + etc etc etc. I would always drive down to DGY since Nielsens want silly money.

Not true.
Yes they closed recently, but for other reasons, not bankruptcy.
And Bruce, Nielsens is a great dealer, tell them your thoughts when you're ready for a new bike.

wow, amazing.
let's just guess or make up things.
no, actually it was an insurance issue.
had a big claim early in the year and then couldn't find another provider to insure the business.
the mc business isn't great right now either and they decided to shut it down.

Neilsens sucks. I've bought over 20 bikes over time and always give them a chance and they're way over priced. I do like their service manager though Ron is a great guy .

if you're looking for a Honda check out stjoehonda.com, they'll give you a great deal. If you're looking to buy in Illinois check out Lemond's in Fairfield. Great smaller dealer.

Keep in mind I dont have a dog in this fight.

Neilsens= Too expensive for years but open. Maybe they arent overpriced but correctly priced.

DGY=cheaper but can't buy because they are closed.

Oh yeah, the two posts above this has two different user names, 3 hours apart, yet say the exact same thing?

I live 1 mile from Nielsen, I drove 45 mins to sport land 2 in Wisconsin, in December 2014 I paid 7600 for a 2015 rmz450 otd. For a laugh I went into stealsens the next week and they quoted me full msrp plus 800 assembly and then all the extra fees....around 10k. Wankers!

All I know is that they had the sweetest bikes and team riding gear, they looked so professional at the time and had some damn good riders too....

DGY ran a national MX team in the early 90's and actually were the first to sponsor Doug Henry. They have an AMA national MX win to their credit as well.
