Gripping a squash ball will increase grip strength at the end of the day.
No peer reviewed studies. I don't plan on doing any for arm pump or grip strength as many people are getting the results I am advertising and it is being used by the best riders in the world. In fact I keep getting calls from the top riders worldwide asking for one. This is the hardest group of riders to convince as they are the biggest targets for the snake oil salesmen which have caused quite a bit of skepticism. I happen to have the best trainer and riders swearing by it and this confidence was built after months of testing, not just one day at the track.
I do plan on doing some medical studies on blood pressure reduction. There is evidence that the stronger one's grip the lower their blood pressure. Apparently grip strength is directly attributed to cardiovascular health. I don't know anything about this, or if 4Arm Strong will have a positive affect on BP. I have only read some articles and seen some reports about it. If I do any studies, eventually I will do some in this area.
As far as gripping a squash ball increasing grip strength, very true, however a terrible exercise of a MX racer. MX racers DO NOT want to load and activate the forearm muscles to achieve grip strength. This risks increasing the size of the forearm muscles, which can cause arm pump. There is only so much volume in the forearm compartment, increasing the size of the forearm muscles takes up that space. This is the biggest reason Aldon Baker likes the 4Arm Strong. He has always avoided loading the forearm muscles to prevent increasing size. When I told him he could increase grip strength without loading the forearm muscles, he couldn't start testing it fast enough.
Pit Row
The first few rides I didnt feel like it was working, my grip strength was a lot better but I didnt have much improvement in the way of actual help with arm pump. But I figured I purchased it and should keep trying it.
Over time, I started noticing little improvements. Which was a relief. I figured if I could get rid of 30-40% of my arm pump it would be well worth it. Again, I kept using it because it was helping with my grip strength and the flexibility of my wrists (which I have broken) so it was a plus in that regard.
Finally over the last two weeks I have noticed a big improvement. Last weekend I rode four two minute motos and got very little arm pump. Coming from someone who would pump up in three laps I was very happy! I tried not using it before I rode and could tell the difference. While the arm pump wasnt as bad as it was 6 weeks ago it was back and noticeable.
For anyone with doubts or concerns, I was skeptical as well. But I figured 150 bucks is less than going to a doctor for weeks on end. I would say for anyone that has one, use it daily, and keep using it. I am not sure I would have had a positive response if I only used it the morning of my riding. Use it before you ride and after each moto.
People buying fancy labels and its all fake..even the people promoting the shit.
Anything fitness is a scam.
If it really is based off ART, then there's no reason someone can't look up a few stretching based exercises with applied pressure and get the same results? No tool needed at all?
Edit: The fact that stretching specific ways for a specific problem should not surprise people. For a lot of mx riders who like to throw money at problems then obviously just buying and trying is the easy answer.
