I was pretty unimpressed at the lack of respect and airtime Speed gave Reed during the A1 show. He IS #1 and IS the American World Champion. The sucking up to James, RV and even last years almost champ Kdub by Fro and his clueless sidekick was...well...for a while there I though they were Tiki and R-assmuch blowing each other.

Yet in the Mathais post race podcast they really like the guy....maybe its because he's honest and wont play the bullshit game with them like DC wanted to pull in 07, so they keep the focus away from him.

It's because he isn't American -its a pride thing, pretty embarassing marketing an american sport with an australian as the number 1 for them.... you know how proud americans are of their country and their people!

Look what Bayle endured! Reed had to warn his family about it when they came over last year too. Nationality should be irrelevant though, its not where you come from its how fast you are. And reed is the World and AMA Supercross champ, and has the most SX wins of any rider racing atm he is the guy to beat.

X2! Well said motodude

I thought Reed was very humble while giving his podium speech after the race. He will win over a lot of fans this year if continues down the same path. Of course there will always be the James Bubbles Stewart jock sniffers that say he can do no wrong and hang on to his every word as if it were the gospel. They are the fun, educated, intelligent, top level racers to deal with. I enjoy bringing myself down to their level to communicate. Sticking up for Bubbles telling us all how uncharacteristic it was that Reed passed him or pulled away…very humble James. Try an RC move and just give the guy credit for riding well.

I love to hear those same people stick up for Bubbles when he says, he took me out again just like in Toronto…but it’s no ones fault. You don't dare call King James on it, because they tell you how stupid you are can’t comprehend what James is saying. Stewie, just STFU and quit trying to have it both ways. Either you made a mistake, it was your fault, and you collided….or Reed hit you and took you out. One minute you're bitching about him hitting you, the next it's no ones fault, it was uncharacteristic for you to be in that position....blah, blah, blah, BS

I don't see why people are bagging on what James said. He said he made a mistake (which he did), he said Reed took him out (which he did), and he said it was no one's fault (which it wasn't). He said Reed took him out, meaning Reed crashed into him and knocked him down (which he did), but I don't see that he was in any way implying it was done purposely. Do you guys actually think Stewart would think someone would purposely run into him from behind in a straight line at the entrance to a set of whoops? How stupid is that?

A straight line? What video were you watching? James messed up then started cutting over to the left to block Reed as he entered the whoops. He messed up, tried blocking, and took both of them out. Reed had no where to go...did he?

Unless you are saying Reed was going straight, I don't know what you are talking about.

But it's the double talk in all his statments...he tries to have it both ways to make himself look and sounds better. There is no humility on his part.

I think what has been causing the issues here is the different definitions of 'take out'. If I said someone took me out, I'd be meaning it was on purpose...i.e.: desperate block pass etc....

But I can see (kinda) the other reasoning....I doubt James would have crashed (in that section) if Reed didn't run into him. I guess a take out can be accidental. In which case, I'm annoyed that James took out KW like that. Wink

Don't you mean, Stewart took out Reed?

CR has not been given the respect he deserves since he came to the US. On the other hand he does not seem to give a flip about what the media thinks of him, he just looks at his Bank account and smiles.

Come on Paul, take yer nuts out of Reeds mouth, what happened did TFS ban you from Race-time?

Or are you just out on a fishing expedition?

None of the current pros are good with the press. Rick Johnson was the last racer who could actually speak and think at the same time on the podium. Today’s canned, cookie cutter, super pumped speeches are not worth televising.

Chad Reed has a way to piss off people and especially the press,(Just ask Andrew Short and many off the press on different boards), that's the difference.

In my USELESS opinion Chad Reed gets a hard on pissing off people and laughing all the way to the bank.

Nothing wrong with it, but you make yer bed, now sleep in it.

I would say James is more in that position right now. Reed was very professional and humble on the podium, and very unlike the cookie cutter description. He even congratulated Shorty on his best finish yet. Making his bed? NO

That's because he's ahead of his competition( Stewart) at this point and feels comfortable on his Suzy, if he'd DNFed at A1, you would have seen a completely different Chad Reed.

Chad Reed is all about the coin, nothing wrong with it.

If short were a threat to Reed, he wouldn't be congratulating him, you can take that to the bank.

Or the American press are racist against kangaroo people,

You decide.
