I have wanted to do this for a while and today I finally pulled the trigger and purchased the site name www.HelpThePrivateer.com

It is a simple concept. There will be a list of the Pro riders names with their paypal email address. You paypal the $$ you think will help directly to them. I will get nothing for doing this although Moto Hose will be a sponsor......and other companies who would like to help can too.

We will be working on the very basic site. IMO it does not need to be flashy just functional......

We will need for all Pro Privateer Riders to contact us at info@HelpThePrivateer.com to get on the list.

But.......We need you.....the peoples help too.

We would like to start a ........ design the...... Help The Privateer logo competition.

Also.......What in your opinion is a Privateer?

Thanks for your help,

Steven Jewell
I've spent a lot of time with Scott in the last couple years. At least 10-20K a month comes out of his own pocket!! Not one team can claim a non profit organization. The personal issues with his family would be enough to make anyone give up. But some how he continues to spend all his time and money on helping privateers.

Next week I'll have a new video interview with Scott describing the future plans for the Warthog team.

Please subscribe to the videos! Keyword "privateermxtv" on youtube.

The 15 week training course for the riders starts and the videos are going to be up every day!

Ryan Eppers is young, fast, very polite and does well in school. If anyone is worthy of some support, it's him.

Ryan is an outstanding candidate for this effort Lumpy. Ryan is certainly fast, like Camp says, but his dedication isn't just to racing. He's an honor student and gives his all on and off the track. His number on that cover, 451 is a tribute to James Marshall who was injured really bad a few years back. He's an encouraging individual and makes time to help those around him. You'll see him working with the younger riders, sharing lines and techniques. It's kind of remarkable to watch knowing he's only 16. And like Hater says, he's got the attention of people like Demuth.

Like what you're doing Lumpy.

lumpy790, this is a great idea....

Another vote for Ryan Eppers. He has a great support team behind him with his family and Mr. AX_Josh Demuth in his corner. He's always a pleasure to watch on the track too and shows respect to others.

This sounds like a great ideal for privaters. Scott from WWR also does an excellent job
he puts in numerous hours everyday and alot of his own personal monie.

Wow, Steve - you make me proud to be from York, SC!! You have just "made the day" for so many riders with your idea. Just the hope of some support is a real bright spot in an otherwise bleak environment like it is right now....hard to look a kid in the face who has worked his tail off his entire life towards this goal and tell him, sorry, its just not gonna happen - these kids will watch their "prime" racing time go by waiting on things to come back around.......huge THANKS from someone who "gets it"!! Awesome chance for some smaller companies to get their name on the racetrack Smile

This email explains it all!

Saw your post on Vital Mx - what a great idea. Of course, I am biased b/c I am a privateer who could definitely use some help! LOL! I was a top national amatuer racer who began my pro racing last year as a privateer. I raced the East Coast Lites SX. Had some ups and downs getting the feel for things and figuring bikes out. Put in some good laps times made all the night shows after New Orleans. At New Orleans I posted the 9th fastest lap time in all the heat races. That was up there with all the TEAM riders: stroupe, jesseman, wharton, hahn, pourcel, davalos, goerke, izzi, GALLO, then clarke.

It is getting very very difficult to compete with the equipment and bikes the teams have at their disposal. And as my contracts for sponsorships are coming in the trend is bleak to say the least. Companies that have supported me for years are now offering very little. Times are rough and the privateer will be extinct soon. Myself included. I buy my bikes, my parts, my gas, transporation, mechanic, etc. Decals alone have to be replaced after each event and those still cost me a good chunk with support. I have run them torn up because I couldn't afford to replace them. I have been racing since I was 6 yrs. old to get to race as a professional. I could sure use your help.

PS It would be great if someone could give some assistance with a place to train for a few select privateers as well. Places like MTF & GPF are great but who can afford them. Keep me informed as to what you guys can do. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Thank you.

Thank you Sue Ellen ......I am just trying to help out where I can. Are things working out for you guys?

I think the Privateers may need to band together and share traveling expenses if they can.

We have "tied a knot in the rope" over here, and we're hanging on - right now Les has nothing - as is the case with a lot of more experienced riders than him. We will do something just like you are trying to help with - I will personally go to every business in town - I can't ask him to give up if he never even gets a shot......

Funny you should mention the "banding together" thing - Les has been saying the same thing - he said any shared expenses - gas, hotel room, etc. could only help the situation! Its just really a great concept you have come up with! Thanks, again!

cool idea. One area that might draw in some donations is a points fund type thing. Performance based rewards for eligible privateers. Would be great to support everyone with a dream, but I want to see the money going to a racer that's got a chance to go somewhere, but needs the help.

This is good stuff. How long until riders get listed on the site.

I have a bunch of the riders info to get posted.....The site program has been fighting me.....I put it up then part of the info is gone or even mixed together.....but I am figuring it out.

Im working on having the designer add the web sit to the bottom......that should be all of the info needed.

I'm working on a points fund with a year end $$ bonus from sponsors.....to keep the points mixed up and tight I was thinking the LCQ non qualifiers should pay more points than making the main. best lap time bonus points. Points for receiving donations ect.........

Do you need to define a privateer really?

If they are all listed and you choose which ones you want to support, then shouldn't the person donating the money make that decision on their own?

After talking with several people in the industry.............That is actually the direction I am headed. Post everyone who wants to get on board.......and let the people decide.
