Ross needs some help at this time.

His HMO won't allow him to go to San Diego.;

So where are the good Dr''s? LB Memorial or St. Judes in Fullerton?

I've moved from SoCal but when i broke my back they flew me to Riverside county and wouldn't let them do surgery there,i waited 4 days to get moved to Loma Linda for my surgery.They had excellent rehab and i've been told UCLA is very good.
Don't know if thats much help?

Dr. Greg Carlson St. Joesephs Hostpital/Orthopedic Institute Orange. He operated 2 out of 3 surgeries of mine. Though I had minor cord injury, he corrected my problems.

Not far from LB. Talk to Monica about HMO if this might work for you. Good Luck.

I'd definitely look to the UCI or UCLA folks to see what they can do.

All the best to Ross and his family.

FYI....

If you want to find out information on Ross - there is now a main website for updates:

The link is : http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/rossmaeda

You can click on the link above and leave a message in the guestbook, look at Ross’ journal , leave pictures you think Ross would enjoy and even make a donation for the family if you like.

I hope this helps.....

I might be able to help you with writing an appeal on the HMO's denial of a non-contracted facility.

(my day job is doing those kinds of denials! Woohoo )

Let me know if I can be of assistance....and the best of luck to Ross.

I hope he's doing a lot better. I was reading racerhead 41 the other day and got excited for him for a moment. The reason I was momentarily excited was the way the update read..Kayaba’s Dan Worley sent out an update on Enzo Racing’s Ross Maeda and his recovery from that devastating crash a few weeks. Ross moved.. (At this point of the article when it said moved I thought it was going to say "his leg" or his toe" or something but after moved it said.) from Riverside hospital to St Judes.. Hopefully the next time they type a sentence saying Ross moved it will say he moved a lower body part. Until then I'll keep praying for him,

Saw Ross yesterday at St. Judes. He's in great spirits and still the same Ross. His gift of gab on the story telling is still way too funny even in bed. He has not lost his sense of humor at all. MX mags everywhere and he's transfered his truck cleaning into the room. The only thing he was bummed about is he didn't know the results of L.V.... until we told him. Then he said what happened to RV and the stories started. He's grabbing gears in life all in a good way...
