Not sure what is going on with the Spaws. I know Johnny started racing stock cars. How are you parents? The last time I saw your dad was at a night race in Illinois and I arrived late so they were not going to let me race. Your dad saw me and told the promoter to let me ride. It was the first time I had ever been there. Must have be around 1992 or 93.

RH. - My Mom passed away a year ago May. We sold Mom and Dads house and property and moved dad to a high rise apartment. He is doing pretty good, cant see for shit and his hearing is getting bad but he still gets around good.
The night race you were at must have been Mendota??

Hornet - Rich Hardesty???....H'mm, I don't have a clue what he is doing. I all but completely forgot about him.

Sorry to hear about your mom Billy. Tell your dad hello from me and it was Mendota. Your dad got my wife out of a real jam that night. We had driven for about 45 minutes when Shelley realized she had forgot to load all my gear in the motorhome. We had to turn around and we were so late that I missed practice. Your dad bailed us out. Including going back for gear, we had been on the road for almost 7 hours.

Biill,
Sorry to hear about your mom and dad. I lost both of my parents in the last five years. I just got in touch with Joe Cox and Greg Randa on Facebook.

Larry, this is Rich Halstead. Do you every see or hear from Bill West who was Alan King's mechanic? Always wondered what happened to him.
Rich, I haven' seen or speak to Bill in years. A buddy of mine said he moved up North and is building and restoring vintage bikes. I guess he's doing well. He plays in a band up there and just hangs out. Not part of the racing seen at all now a days.

Thanks man. I think this is a pretty cool page. I sent hours on here last night just looking at old photo's and reading posts from people that raced back in the day. Those were good times.

Larry, When you say up North do you mean Northern Cal or actually North as in real winters? I can't imagine Bill up North dealing with winter. I don't miss those long winter at all since I moved to Texas. Bill sure was a trip to travel with though, barely let me take time to eat. I had to run my ass off to a fast food joint at gas stops.

LB, just have to ask. What do you think would have happend with the 125 pro class in 1983. How do you think Bruce would have done? Or Rick H. for example. It was hard to take. I didn't even know who Mike Kedrowski was for example, and all the sudden he's a big name? Paul came out on a Kawi and did well, but then? I beleive you mounted the big bikes in 84?

Wow. Halstead from Iowa? Pretty soon Junior Jackson will be on here, Jimmy Canner, and Greg Randa.

Breck Powers is in Texas too. You guys see the Mike Roth Vegas deal? He punched some dude out! LMFAO.

Bummer to hear about Little Fosnock.

I found this link yesterday on youtube. It's the 87 CMC Golden State Nationals, and an awesome 80cc race. Button, Emig, Clowers, Chris Neal, Chad Pederson, Buddy Antunez, ect... I don't know if it got aired, because of the 4 wheeler race that went the same day, never seen it before.
