he did the right thing. he couldn't have turned into an on coming bike and went backwards and he didn't gain a position.

i'm glad for Blose, but I think Jason deserved the position.

just my opinion.

x2. he would have had to go backwards, which i believe has a bigger penalty than cutting the track....but he could have at least looked like he thought about the alternatives Smile

Reeds outside track excursion lost a lot of time and positions not gained time. Jason should have turned left and re entered in original section. On that note I think he was the fastest overall and the whole night was crazy.

I love hearing people say he cut "two straights and a corner," like it was the length of the stadium or something. It was a corner you jokers...JLaw couldn't get back on the track where he went off. He did what he thought was the safest. Should he have been docked a lap, fine, then he would have gotten 9th or 10th? He would still be in good shape to win the championship. Look what he did last year after that horrible finish when he couldn't start his bike. Just a bunch of Haters here!

I hear ya but I don't feel ya........he got a penalty and it's seems about fair.

Blose rode his ass off for sure. So did J Law.

They penalized Lawrence per the rulebook, didn't they? And aren't the rules made up to keep competition fair?
If the penalty given wasn't in accordance with the rules, then people should complain. Since he was penalized according to the rulebook, no one should be complaining.

Some of you guy look for reasons to hate and some just dont look at the bigger picture. I watched the whole thing and what Jason did was yeah not exactly right but what was he going to do. If he turned around he gets DQ'd and if he did what he did then he gets docked. I know a lot of you look for reasons not to like him but he was far from doing that on purpose and being a "CHEATER". Just my .02 Carry on

Are you serious????? If Dungey had the same situation I would have said the same thing I just understand the situation he was in and everyone looks for those situations to jump on and start running their beeks without really knowing the penalties for the infraction. I think you should know me better than that by now Crowe!!

Looking at the track where he crossed over, there didnt seem to me a possible place to re-enter as riders were coming from that direction too. He did what he could have done, and I am not sure if a penalty should have been given or not. According to the rule book which is like all rules (Open to interpitation) at times, he did what he should have done.

I also dont think it would have taken 5 seconds to get through that corner.

my point exactly SH - going backwards on the track was a DQ back in oz....I wasn't sure if the same applied here. I don't think he could have re-entered where he came off.

Not that I care one way or the other but, where do you get "go backwards on the track"? When he came onto the track from a ninety degree angle and turned left to follow the track all he to do was turn left again off the track to wind up about where he left the track to begin with. He saved a lot more than five seconds the way he went about it. Is the penalty sufficiant? If the rules allow such actions and consequences then I suppose so. If he did that at a JustMX race he would have been unhappy with the outcome I assure you.

lol this thread is hilarious........ we all know blose deserved 4th place.....WTF are people going off about..?.. the other spode wadded.......then cut the track at the end(on purpose or not) .should not get a position.because he did so.....

i think 5th was a gracious position .should of been worse.........if it were anyone else (or reversed) i would venture to say.........the person that cut the track would of lost more then one spot

jason can't control his scooter it seems, he could have taken another riders life or even worse a limb, if another bike was going down that straight. look at the bigger picture folks.

What I don't understand is how you guys can think one position is fine... it should have been more since he gained a big advantage on catching other riders in front of him by cutting the course. Sure he only gained one position but he gained alot of seconds on catching the next guys. And if this is allowed why not act like you blow a corner and cut the track at multiple areas thus shaving off 4 seconds to catch your competitors. Just freaking lame. I'm not hating I'm saying if this is allowed I would be acting like I'm losing control on corners to gain time. Should have been sacked 2 positions minimum.
1/4/2009 8:18pm
if they were gonna sack him any positions they should hold a flag out to alert him.

why the fuck did they let him hang it out and pass blose to sack him?

shoulda just informed him that he no longer could improve position since he missed a section. gave him a 5 second penalty and if the guy behind him got within 5 then that would equal a pass.

stop trying to give away a position to an undeserving rider. anyone who passes his way to 5th with a visor hanging off is pure moto. just like RC at Pontiac in '02

I would imagine there the question is intent, as well as frequency

Once is an accident
Multiple occurrences might show an intent

If it was Canard or any of the other nice guys, everyone would have been saying he's a goody goody so he got special treatment.. i think the AMA was worried about looking as if they were retaliating for his past so took it easy on him.
