Detroit whoop section WALL...

I think with how they're not utilizing the stadium floor space, they SHOULD do timed races for SX as well.
I'd be fine with:
20 mins +2 for 250
30 mins +2 for 450

Then the TV-Time Directors can definitely manage the TV time better and give the fans a better race.

Wall = FAIL

If you had the land and the equipment to build your own SX track, would you build yourself a wall as an obstacle? I would not.

I like them, but not in the whoops. Not too long ago, they'd throw a wall jump in between two opposite corners and it made for a good obstacle. In the whoops it just negates some of the skill required to really blitz through.

If you look at a lot of the tracks this year, there are way too many with the start straight in the middle of the stadium going length-wise taking up a lot of floor space. Well those long straights aren't a slow section! Those guys are WFO and making those laps come down as well.

They need less start straights taking up the middle of the track.

I would say clutch companies love them....if everyone has to buy a new clutch.....

Vital would have one of their famed meltdowns if that pass happened today

Dammit I miss the Silverdome! Great track, great stadium, great parking lot for tailgaiting, 25 minutes from my house!

Not a fan of the wall in the middle of the woops either. If they must be there, surely there's a better place for them strategically.

I suspect the promoters like them. They give the veiwers a little cat and mouse action, even if it is only perceived.

Whoops with 180 at either end... Good for passing.

Added some inside options. Good for passing.

Opened up all the entry/exits to turns so there is passing ops under braking.

Wall into sand so they jump in and it's cool to watch. Other walls serve to slow the guys down without ruining a passing op.

Ski jump onto straight for some interest.

Good news, no wall!
Really? Now that is good news! I have been blasting Dave Prater every week on his instagram pictures of the track with a wall in the middle of the whoops and lack of creativity in the track. It is not difficult to build a good track. Shit, start replicating some older tracks from the early 2000's

I raced it once in 81 and that was enough for me. I felt like a fish out of water lol. I saw my first pro race at Delta, it was one of those Inter-Ams. Mike Hartwig smoke everybody in the open class!

It was the Joker lane then the Wall. Next we will have a chase format that sucks then they will impose mandatory pit stops and yellows to tighten up the pack. That's not what will happen though.

It's the Nascarazation of the sport.

I'm not a fan obviously.

Better. Still looks like two sets of whoops though, instead of one constant set of whoops evenly spaced.

Good layout. They need to bring back inside berms. They used to have them a lot in the early 90s. It could give the rhythm lanes more options.
