Typically I think Yamaha's are ugly. The tank/shroud area just looks hideous to me. However your graphics tie things together to make it look really nice.

Your forks do look like a low rider set up...is that the new setup?

Who did your graphics they look nice.

Limited Decal

My forks are in the holeshot device in the picture. I put them there to align the ring when the bike was strapped down in the trailer and forgot to take it out before the picture. I feel like it messes up the picture but oh well now. The bike has been ridden now and I'd have to build another one to ever get another fresh picture. Ship has sailed sadly.

Wow, that's a gorgeous looking bike!, but can I ask about some info how it rides?, and what bike did you come from to this please?....

For me it's either a 2016 KTM 450 or your 2016 YZF450.

Again, well done!.

Sure ask whatever you like, I'll answer as best I can. Keep in mind I don't have a ton of time on it yet. I do have some strong opinions already though. Also keep in mind the geometry of the bike and suspension are not oem representative and I never rode it stock. I have no idea what a stock 16 YZ rides like.

All my bikes before this have been red. 2 and 4 strokes. This feels nothing like a Honda in any way shape or form. I've also never owned a bike with air suspension before. That adds a lot of dimensions to what the bike can do and can't do.

So anyway, ask away...

Killer bike! looks unreal.

Ive had a 14,15 and now i have a 16 with about 12hrs on it so far. There a really good bike.

Have you had a chance to play with maps or anything? what gearing do you run?

Ive got a tuner but haven't found any maps i like yet. I run 13-50 gearing and ride high gears using the torque of the motor. I don't mind the stock Map.

Thank you.

So far I have only tried 13-49. I have the tuner but haven't played with the maps yet. My biggest (only really) negative to the bike is the engine braking. It seems stronger than othe bikes I've ridden. May not be the case but it feels like it. Have you found the same to be true?

Yeah i do notice the engine braking. i try to carry a higher gear when cornering so theres less engine braking. I find engine braking tends to stand the bike up in ruts/corners. I also think it fatigues me.

I know how ani-Vital switching late model AOSS springs forks for air is but I was advised I would not be disappointed. I'm not.
I'm sure you're not!
I have the same forks on my 125. Feels incredible.

Congrats on the new ride. I just got a '16 450 too. Can't wait to take it for a ride.

Is the A kit kyb much better than stock? Always thought the stock kyb stuff was really good on the later model yams

I can't really compare. I didn't ride this particular bike stock before I switched.

Since I stumbled into a used SHOWA A kit on my last bike I decided I'd always run the best from now on if I could in any way afford it. I feel safer on works stuff and that's my priority, to not get pitched when I make mistakes. Worth it is up to the individual. To try to keep my 33 year old body in one piece I'll try just about anything to avoid hanging up my boots.

Engine braking sucks - I ride a 300 XC Off Road and a 350 at the track. I installed the Rekluce and there is no engine braking at all - actually was a bid weird at first......takes some getting used too.......

Thing is so sweet! Did you keep the offset stock with those clamps or change it?

The new bike looks great. Do you still have the CR250?

Thanks,

No I had to let it go to be able to put this deal together. Wanted to get back on a 4 stroke. The 2 stroke was fun and I rode it well but I was slower on it. Hopfully I learned some stuff from it I can apply here and ride even better.

I'm running 22mm of offset. Stock is 25 for 16. 22 was stock in 14-15.

Like Darryl said, this is all rumor. I don't think its Budds that's the problem and certainly nothing Jon Beasley can do about it. The latest rumor is that it seems that there is a particular individual that rides at Budds and The Landing that is being looked at. He just so happens to ride at the same track the same day as people who have their bikes stolen in a matter of weeks. They think he is finding certain bikes and taking tag numbers and giving them to thieves and they are having the MVA run the addresses. One of my buddies who is a LEO and a rider is looking into this theory.

Lol, I haven't. I haven't even been racing 10 years, but to start from scratch and get pretty good I still think that's about what it costs. This is a once in a lifetime for me. A decent racer needs 2 of these at a time every 2 years and a RV. 100k spent right there.

Thanks, ok so i cant really ask you how the stock suspension is so no problem there, i would like to hear your "strong opinions" tho please?, and how do you find the motor?....i have not ridden one as yet but i'm sure liking the thought, but i do have to say i like the "button" and things like the Hydro clutch and Brembo brakes on the KTM, how is the braking on the Yamaha?, Clutch feel?.....its a tempting bike for sure, even stock!.

Again, well done mate, credit to you.
