Tell us about your #1 plate and the plaque of your name/# above your work bench.
Sure!

In 2010 I raced the AMA National Enduro series and was fortunate enough to bring home the Championship in the B-200 class. It was a lot of work and spanned races from Wyoming, Maine, Texas, Georgia, etc. It is my greatest accomplishment on 2 wheels.

The plaque was a gift from my Wife. I'll ask her, but she found it in an MX mag or Social media (can't remember) and bought it. It was like 60 bucks and the person would customize them for you.

Is that a light made out of a engine or just a light behind the engine?
Its a legit lamp!

It's an 04 CRF450 engine that is a glorified paper weight. The cases are both cracked, cylinder wall collapsed, and head melted. I got those two Ikea lamps and slipped them over the head studs.

I like what you have going on there. I also like your comments about running a stock 125 in another thread. I'll bring my old '98 CR125 up to Baja some time and we'll ride.

Sounds good man!

That plaque was off a Christmas idea list on a moto site, either Transworld or RacerX. They had the company info.

My shop looks nothing like those, its where real work gets done with a patina of rust dust oil and gas.

From building alternators and generators splitting engine cases building ford v8s and c6 trannys to splitting tractors apart.

The walls full of nails with everything hung on them i dont throw away like pieces of wire heater hoses, vacum line hose clamps old chain a wad of LLs bibs dozens of gasket kits with the 2 you need gone and a few broken parts that i needed reminding of how lucky i didnt kill myself that day from.

I built a 120 x 40 metal building half with concrete floor thinking it was big enuff,it is full of cars bikes and old john deere tractors.

I have never taken anything anywhere to get fixed, the hillbilly learns how and fixes it himself.

Good times had there,good times.

^^^This. My shop is stained floors and shelves of weird spare parts & pieces that you just can't throw away because you may need. Especially when you live in the country and have equipment & and a track. It's almost impossible to keep clean I sweep it a couple times a week with a leaf blower.............but we can fix damn near anything here........

Hillbilly- we come from the same school of "Ya never know when you're gonna need it".

I just fixed a disintegrated plastic hose and fitting on my son's VW secondary air injection system with some leftover nylon-reinforced tubing and a pair of 1/2 pvc elbows.

When we installed it, he was horrified at how looked. Guess he doesn't dare much for Frankengineering. But it works like a charm, is hidden under that stupid plastic engine cover, and saved him about $150 in overpriced parts.

Now, to the point. You must post up a pic of that workshop of yours.

For about the last five plus years I have been dealing with a crippling back issue after a girl on her cell phone ran through the back of my car as I sat at a stop sigh (I did finally find the right doctor and things have been good since April 2015).

During those five years, after say some new treatment and a temporary fix, I would start working in the shop, or buy something to get me excited again only to end up not getting better, and back on my back. I am semi anal and loved to keep my shop cleaned and organized, if not pretty. Yet five years of using my shop as a catch all (one downfall to not getting better even though you think you will is buying things at the same pace as a healthy person) turn my beloved work area into a dump.

Seeing these pictures has now sent me into a deep depression and based on how bad my shop looks ^, I feel I might never return it to the full glory it deserves. Therefore, I will need to enlist a lawyer to sue all you bastards so I can hire somebody to make my place look good again Smile

Seriously though, these threads do help motivate me and I will be back full steam ahead with a clean shop and some cool builds.

Thanks for the pictures guys.
