What does RC have to do with this thread?

No arguing the numbers, James has won more... But I think Chad had to overcome a shyte load more to do it and done it the way he liked. His regrets, if either have any, might be from not winning a bit more but not about the events of his career. I'd guess James who was so heralded might have both...

Someone said above Chad will feel physically better in the futute, I think Chad has had more body injuries but hasn't taken the dirt naps thus far.

my point that stewart was on the level of RC, when either or both was in their prime............Reed, while a great racer, along with many many others, was never even close to the status of those two in this sport Smile Smile

Comparing the two careers but fuck the "stats" (which are close enough anyway we are splitting hairs).

Chad: Made far more use of his career. Appears to be enjoying it. Looks like he will retire happy.
James: Made far less use of his career. Appears to be hating it. Looks like he will retire unhappy.

I don't agree at all that the stats are close enough to split hairs, if you're talking wins or championships. I used this same link in another thread...

Yeah fair enough "blusmbl" especially when someone posts a link with the wrong info to make a point. 1x 125/lites win for Reed?

Whats the overall points scored between the two? Who has more podiums?

Compare points scored in the series with the most exposure being AMA 450 points:
CR: 3648
JS: 2250

See you can split hairs all day..

How is it wrong? That same info only crediting Reed with 1 win in the lites outdoors is posted on multiple websites. Allisports, racerx, transworld, etc.

Can you disprove it?

Stewart has been better since day one and has the stats to back it up. His career has been more turbulent, but it has been more successful, no doubt.

Stewart has obviously been more successful...not that Reeds career has been bad at all.

One of my favorite pictures. A friend's mom took this at Millville in 2002. Pretty crazy there are still out there going for it 14 years later!

Reed has exceeded expectations repeatedly.
Stewart has failed to live up to them repeatedly.

Reed hits the scene and is up against RC in his prime. Winning more races then him in his rookie season.

Since then he has had the likes of Dungey, RV, Stewart, Roczen, Tomac, Anderson etc. Come onto the scene and has beaten them all straight up at some point in time and is still a threat for a win and grabbing podiums despite having been written off each year for the past half decade or so.

Stewart had the higher peak and more wins but only the same amount of titles. Chad Reed has been relevant a hell of a lot longer and is more relevant today despite being 3 years older and well past the age most guys are retiring at in the most stacked field in years.

Both have had impressive careers. But I think Stewart would have expected to have a lot more titles by now and like Reed there's next to no chance he can add another this late in his career in this field.

I would die an incredibly happy man if I had a perfect MX season and was 2nd on the all time win list.

Reed hasn't been suspended for 16 months due to failing a drug test.

Just sayin........
