Give Hahn some races to get back into it. He's had a lot of rough injuries. With that said unless his results improve this is probably his last year on a full factory ride.
These are the cold hard facts, he got the ride on merit and will lose it the same way. That's the business. Same goes for for Alex Martin. Im worried hes off the pace. Savatgy and Oldenburg have stepped it up and Alex isn t there right now. Whats up?

He got 16th. Deano got 15th. That's a hell of an intermediate class you must be racing.

I don't know if you guys have noticed, but the 450 field is pretty stacked this year. I don't think you could call anyone ahead of him anything but a bad ass. I think he'll climb up, but keep in mind his off season got a late start and was derailed once.

Kawi misses Red Dog.
How true is that? Weimer has been solid - second best for team green in 450 class.

Wil was obviously off his game last week at Anaheim. Heck, if I'd had serious injuries there on two season-openers, I'm sure I'd have been happy to make it through healthy.

Anyway, it's all easy when you're sitting on the couch at home.
Exactly! I'm sure his head was spinning after the last 2 years. When he starts racing without thinking, he will be fine.

Wow!!!! Pretty much all the guys in the 450 main are out of semi rigs. 17 current riders have 250 titles.. Did you see how stacked even the semis are now before the lcq. if guys stayed healthy and injury free it would be like this all the time.

I agree w ith EK298!

I don't know what "B" riders you are watching, but they certainly can't make the main in the 450's this year. Hahn will get his groove on soon enough.

I can't wrap my head around the lack of respect and understanding for the talent and work ethic the guys making these mains have. Especially coming from guys that almost got a Moto win in 25+ C with 10 guys on the gate back in 1997. These guys are all within a very small margin. The top 15 are on the same second. Do you realize how quickly confidence or a good start can make up that gap? To call a guy like Weimer or Hahn undeserving B riders does nothing buy make you look like a complete and total fuckwit that knows NOTHING about what it takes and means to be on that stadium floor racing in circles. It boggles my mind and makes me sad for the sports future.

I think the bike might not be the best fit for the little guy. He sure looked good on that Geico 450 before he got hurt. But never the less, it is a super stacked field out there right now.

I did great watching it on tv. Your logic would dictate we the fans cant be critical on a sx rider. Since hey we are not racing. If kawasaki feels they are getting there ROI out of hahn. So be it. I would just hate to be his mechanic with all that extra work to come in 20th.

yep
You have factory guys and 250 sx champs battling for 14th place
Wil has been through the ringer, watch inside sx or whatever the hell that show was a few years back.
I'm sure Wil knows he has to get back, and i think he deserves a little time

Not to get off topic about Hahn but A Mart got that ride for what he did in the Nationals and will probably keep it for what he will do this summer in Nationals.

Maybe some have forgotten but his brother has missed 3 mains in 250 east last two years but I think we would all agree that Jeremy is a pretty good rider.

I'm sure his mechanic is fine. Did he and Wil want a better result... Sure they did. So did Kawasaki.

He probably won't have a factory ride after this year, but he has one right now and has sacrificed a lot to be where he is.

There's only so many spots in the main and it's full of factory riders or factory supported riders. Some guys just aren't going to put it way up there every week. But I know every week I'll find something on Vital about one of these guys that doesn't deserve his ride or just will flat out get shit on.

I am a hahn fan, but like i said the comparison is lame, giving 100% and doing the job ,2 different things. In the real world , if ya cant do the job, unemployment is near. .

However you want to spin it. Just why is he starting 12th in the lcq. Must be the bike
maybe it's what happens after a whole lot of injuries.

to answer your initial question, he has a factory ride because he earned it.

He might of earned it. He has not shown in 2 seasons why they should keep him. That was my statement. He just does not look hungry. I see him at milestone occasionally. Imo, He looks just ok out there.

Do you tell him that in person when you see him or just post it anonymously from the confines of your keyboard?

After the crashes back to back he had, What do you expect? Walk out of the hospital and onto the box? I know hes been training & riding for a little while now, but if you had the crashes/injurys he's had youd probably 'retire'. It takes a lot to get over that mental hump. His times weren't far off in qualifying, and this isn't the supercross from 10 years ago. Everyone is fit (to the max), everyones bike is fast and very comparable + the talent pool is realy high this year ( how many privateers made the main). Its a bummer that his results aren't better, but its a very very tough class.
Alex was never a superstar indoors, His speed is outside.

The best part about moto is... Everyone Talks shit when youre off the leaders pace. If you can barely make it around your local track for 5 laps, youre suddenly allowed to just shit on other people.
All of these guys are faster than you or I will ever be. A prime example is Broc Hepler, Hes out of the industry for years but shows up to local events and some xc races and smokes everyone. You know how fast these guys are until you put them against regular people and then you scratch your head as you watch them blow past everyone.

Translation: "No, I don't have the balls to talk shit in person."

Wil has a 2 year contract with Kawasaki, hence the reason he still has a ride. Does he get a ride next year? Who knows, and we won't know that until his Kawi contract is up in October.
