Hey guys I got a question, I picked up 01 cr250 the other day for a grand. i couldnt pass it up for a screwing around bike. My question is : Is the plastic for a 02 cr250 the same fit as the 2001?? Ive been lookn on ebay and there is some discrepencies on that. I know alot of you on here have alot of knowledge. So please help. My other question is this bike has a brand new set of black excel wheels on it. Will these wheels switch over to my 2007 crf450?? I feel like i got a decent deal on this 2 smoker, I started running some HS races the end of last year and you all know how a HS race will trash ur nice lookn mx bike. What is this 2 smoker worth?? Thanks guys

No the plastic wont fit, just look at the frame.. the wheels will fit, but the 2 strokes have skinnier rim sizes so you are aware. That bike is a piece "o" crap and is worth about what you payed for it. But have fun Cool

Wish I never got rid of mine. I had one of Steve Lamson's factory prepped practice bikes that he never rode. Was an outstanding bike.

I never said it was a fact. Thats my opinion, I had 2 01 250's and an 01 125. Each gave me the biggest fits out of all my bikes.

And I love pitbikes : ) theyre great.

I loved my 01 CR250.

Plastic on the 2000 & 2001 are the same, 02 and up are different.

I bought a leftover 03 and you're right.
The newer chassis turns better than anything i've ridden but the 01 motor is a world better.
The 01 & 03 are both better than the 02 yz250 I had.

the front fender off of an 02 will fit an 01.. its the only plastic that will.. had one on mine

By far one of the best 2 smokers ever made. That bike was unbeatable when set-up properly.

Great bike.
get a 2000 barrel, V Force, stock pipe, shorty silencer - that's what they raced in 00 and 01.

The motor is super powerful, send the suspension to Factory Connection.The suspension was undersprung. On the rear, run one point heavier on the spring. If your weight calls for 5.5, go 5.6 Run heavier pressure springs and coil springs for the front. The bike works best with its ass in the air. Turns better and the forks work best.

Should be a lot of plastic on ebay for it. Overall great bike. Keep your eye on the crank. Check the play on the rod, You can get a replacement for $100

Very highly rated bike.

The 2000 Keihen carb is a bunch better than the 2001 Mikuni TMX. Much less sensitive to temp variances, has a spin top instead of tiny screws that get lost, and has a better idle circuit.

I think that I read a thread on ThumperTalk about putting the 02+ plastic on the 00/01 bikes.

Those rule! I raced one a few times last year, rips. Handles nice, killer holeshots against the tractors.Still very competetive for us mortals.

i had an 01 and 02 and the motor was deffinetly better but the 02's handling is better im going to get an 01 motor and make if fit in my 02 frame

According to KBB...it's worth $2100.00, but in this economy I doubt you'd even get close to that price for it......If it isn't too thrashed then you got a good deal. Great motor, decent handling.....remember it's a 8 year old bike which doen't really mean anything with a capable rider aboard against the "Newer" models, as far as plastic goes"00" and "01" are the same

I bought a brand new 01 cf250. Took a bit to get the jetting lined out on that thing. If I'm not mistaking I had to cut through the slide a lil bit on it. Got it running good but never cared for the handling. I sold it, took a $1000 dollar loss and went back to my beloved YZ at the time.

I have a Boswell carb (if I can find it) that might fit.......I ran a Boswell on my 95 CR250 and it ran like a scalded dog!
