Oh well. Sad James is not racing tonight. The track is perfect....for him to win.

They should just do A1 and find other places to host races. There doesn't need to be this many CA rounds.

I think that is what they are doing with the addition of these two new east coast rounds (NJ the last two years and Foxboro this year). They're playing it conservative and feeling things out. If those races are a success I would expect this trend of newer rounds to continue.

Convenience to the race teams and west coast based riders is the only real benefit. The Midwest and south east would fill their stadiums with those two extra CA rounds.

Sucks to have to stay up till 1am for supercross. Would be nice if it was at least an hour earlier.

We have had a good sized group that went down every year and had a tailgate party before the race. It was always a good time and everyone looked forward to it. With it being downtown everyone but the couple of industry guys who had to go, decided to just watch it on TV. The complaints were mostly about the price of "tailgating" downtown. Parking and traffic getting in and out of downtown just made the decision to stay home easier. Plus, downtown isn't that kid friendly for the couple of people who had kids.

Is there no transit? I would never drive to a race, want to drink beer and have. Good time. Take a bus or taxi.

We are taking the trolley right now to our free parking that's 9 minutes away. You can get a trolley pass for 5 bucks and return to your car between Qual2 and night show

Feld made the same mistake doing 2 Atlantas last year. Place always had 70000 but last was 35000-40000 both races. Really changed the whole atmosphere around the event.

I saw what seemed to be a lot of empty seats down low during the TV coverage of the 450 main... Thought maybe they were sections that were blocked off for fan safety... Sounds like that wasn't the case, just low attendance...

Same with football, no reason to bring the rams to LA after LA didn't support the other teams. Think 3 in CA is enough already...

Didn't they also screw up by putting one of the races the same weekend as the Nascar race?

So this is what I did. My wife, 4 year old daughter, and I drove down from Huntington Beach Got a hotel in old town San Diego walked around there for a bit. Got Margaritas and food there and jumped on the green line trolley about a 2 minute walk from old town. In about 15 minutes it drops you off at a 4 minute walk to the entrance of Petco park. Watched dungey light the candle! Bailed out to trolley and made it back to old town in 15 minutes. 6 bucks round trip on trolley. Wake up hit the Zoo. Boom done. Drive back home and go to round three next Saturday. Three in a row guys, if you love it in person don't make excuses make a plan. Way more exciting yelling with other fans than by myself with my daughter and wife asleep on a Saturday night.

I think lots of fans bought the extra elbow room package. Wink

I saw that too, but it did look better at race time. Just a note… The races do start a half hour earlier this year.

What is the entrance to such a Monster Energy Supercross race ?
Here in Europe the entrance to a GP is, at around 70 euro's(75 dollar) pretty high if you ask me. But then again you get 2 entire days or racing. Especially if you go to the GP's where there are also rounds of the EMX races contested.
If you ask me there actually is not much racing going on in such a supercross race. The really best of the world only ride for about 20 minutes. (5 minutes in their heat race and 15 minutes in the main event). That is not a lot. How much do you actually have to pay for that ?

That's pretty pricy. Take your wife and your 2 kids with you and you are out between 200$ and 600$. That's without eating or drinking something at the track. All you get in return is 2h30 of racing. I can understand people staying at home and watching the event live on the television for free....

I am sitting in my living room 20 mins from the stadium. Last year it was such a bitch parking downtown n the wait to get out of the structure that I passed on this round. If the crowds r down I will hit round 2. This is where live TV can hurt attendance
I agree that the live races do hurt attendance,so much easier to watch it live on TV and way cheaper.

Yeah, I live in Los Angeles and the ticket price increases along with the fees have kinda irritated me into not going. I HATE those fees.

As a result, I've gotten used to "not going" after years of being used "to going". I'm not so sure somebody else filled the seats that I used to buy.

I do think they should spread the schedule in more places around the country, but I imagine that that's much easier said than done. It seems like they are exploring and trying to do that.

I think 2 Atlanta rounds was a mistake...be happy with the 1 round sellout.

That said, I'll most likely attend Anaheim 2, because a friend wants to go.

It's not like the riders are working for the door. Who cares if the stands are empty? Not like Feld is going to sell off the series because of it.

I went to last years San Diego SX round and I remember it being a good turn out. I had a room across the street so a parking issue for was non-existent. After the race we walked into gas lamp dis. And found a nice Irish pub to hang at. Probably one of the best times I've had at/after a SX (besides Vegas). If I didn't have to work I would have went this year. Oh well, hopefully next year I will go. SD SX is a blast to go to IMO.

A lot of issues are to do with cost and scoping the place out... we have an AX near us next week, parking will be £12, which will take an hour to get out of, and tickets will be £30, the races will be 6 mins each tops, and it will turn out to be £100 night out with drinks and food.
Last year it was full, this year it has gone 2 two days, i doubt it will be full .

And there is nobody i want to watch race either.

I will pay my £25 to go to the Hawkstone International and get value for money.
