I am amazed at the amount of Doctors, specialists, people that apparently were there with James when he came to with the stopwatch in hand and a degree on nuerology to put their 2 cents in here, for us, on Vital.

I just want to thank these individuals for enlightening us and spreading their knowledge all over us to make us better understand that the people making James' decisions and the imposter professionals that are in position to help guide and oversee these policies are only in it to make Feld money and put money in DC's pocket. We all k know these people are a part of a bigger, massive campaign to run the world. Illuminati.

Sad for the sport. Sad for James Stewart. Sad for all the people that think he should be racing this weekend.

I can tell you in no uncertain terms that if I was in James Stewart's position regardless of whether I was six, 16, 26, 36, or 46 my mom and my dad would be out there at the first practice and grab the front of my helmet and refused to let go.

Mr. and Mrs. Stewart you should be ashamed of yourselves. Your son was knocked out cold six days ago and if you don't do everything in your power to keep him for racing this weekend it's a travesty.

Maybe he doesn't know shit, but multiple concussions can have negative long term consequences. How many concussions has Pastrana had? How many has James had? I'm not a doctor, but I can read and come to my own conclusions:

Months after concussion symptoms such as dizziness, headaches and memory loss fade, the brain continues to show signs of injury, a new study suggests.

Comparing 50 concussion patients with the same number of healthy people, researchers found that the brains of those suffering concussions showed abnormalities four months later. This happened despite the fact that their symptoms had already eased to some degree.

The findings may sway conventional thinking about when it's safe to resume physical activities that could produce another concussion, the study authors said.

Staying busy, Jeff? I've been doing demo and helping with remodels in the winter until things pick up in the spring/summer.

I know somebody who was concussed then raced a week later and hit their head. Brain swelled, flight for life. He was lucky to make it. Will never ride again. Still see him wandering around at some local races every now and then which is awesome. I am definitely concerned for James, but it's his decision and I'm pumped to see him race. Just hope he can have a safe night.

Yep, I was there too! About 10' away. TV doesn't do that crash justice! James caught and passed RC and pulled away and had the moto won easily and that crash came out of nowhere! Man, I was really disappointed too, James has just won the OA at Hangtown and was killing it that 1st moto at High Point. I really thought James had RCs number, but that crash ended all that!Sad

the protocol being strong enough to not allow riders the opportunity for a second trauma within a week is the issue. that's what I'm arguing for. there's no mandated cool down period after a head trauma of any degree, like most other sports. like any sport that's throwing away reckless championship and points chases for the personal well being of the athletes.

Can you share with us a protocol from another professional sport that has a mandatory "Cool Down" period of longer then 7 days. I am really interested in this minimum 7 days. Would be 14 days if this would have happened to Seely maybe 3 days if it where Tomac. That's it your racing number dictates rest minimum rest days. Hope K-Roc doesn't go down.
Most major rugby organisations around the world, including USA Rugby, have concussion policies that exclude a concussed player from returning to play for more than 7 days.

USA boxing - minimum suspension period for a TKO - 30 days. For loss of consciousness 1 minute or less - 90 days.

Pastrana and Stewart might end up like some of these retired hockey players who get up from the couch and go into another room to get something and then suddenly can't remember why they went into that room or what they were even looking for.

Look at Steve Mantador of the Chicago Blackhawks. He had 15 documented concussions and died at 35. His autopsy showed that he had pretty serious brain damage from the hits he took. Now, about 100 players have a class action law suit against the NHL for not having thorough enough protocols dealing with concussions in the NHL.

It'll probably start to really affect him as he nears middle age and gets older.

Bubba is over 2 seconds a lap slower the Dungey. He had a good start last week, but would have faded back. Been out of racing for 18 months, and when your not on the gate with those guys, I don't care how much practicing you do, you lose a tick or two on the stop watch. And a tick or two on that gate is the difference between 1st and 15th.

Officially unofficial 450A times.

Dungey 50.373
Anderson 50.883
Tomac 51.004
Musquin 51.166
Tickle 51.381
Reed 51.768
Roczen 51.859
Canard 51.956
Seely 52.317
Stewart 52.386
Wilson 52.456
W Hahn 52.568

JS7 has many fans, I don't see how anyone can honestly say they look forward to him racing again. I'm not meaning this in a sarcastic way. JS7 reminds me of an old boxer that is past his prime. Which leads me to this. How many people depend on James for a paycheck.

A concussion is still a concussion, whether you are wearing a helmet or not.

Do NFL players suffer concussion?

And they follow the same testing criteria as SX....My point is that those sports you listed may have different criteria and protocol because the head is left unprotected.
