Webb pass under yellow

I was surprised last night that he wasn't penalized after heat race. I was under the impression that you couldn't pass under yellow flag? Not that it would have had any result on the main event results, but it was clearly a yellow flag situation. Apologies if there has already been a post about this.

You cannot pass under a yellow flag in amateurs but you can in the pros, just not on Red Cross flag.

Passing under yellow is legal in pro racing. Just can't pass under the red cross flag

b. Yellow Flag or Yellow Flashing Light:
1. Indicates serious hazard on or near the track. This includes

Seems like a contradiction doesn't it? Proceed with extreme caution, but if you're in a battle for position you can use it to your advantage....

Unlike other motorsports where the yellow is meant to control the track when there is a hazard, in SX and MX it is only meant to make a rider aware of a hazard for thier own safety.

The flagger had just switched up the flag. At first he was waving the red cross flag and then switched it the yellow. Maybe CC had seen the red cross and let that sit in his mind for to long.
